Dedicated to creating a sustainable and impactful solution by upcycling pre-used fabrics to produce clothing and women’s sanitary pads for refugee children and orphanages. We put our hobby of sewing and knitting to good use by upcycling preloved linen and fabric and turning it into new clothes for children around the world. We put our sewing powers to good use by recycling old sheets and pillowcases, sewing them into little dresses, and donating them to girls in need.

After a long, unexpected time away from the UAE, I am heading back to Dubai today!

First stop, the Emirates lounge in Manchester where I was delighted to see (& eat) this gorgeous dessert, I like to kid myself that the chef had prepared it just for me as a welcome back gift ♥️🐝♥️

I’ll be hitting the ground running and very much looking forward to joining our Sewing Bee’s in Dubai again for 3 days of sewing Angel Wings on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at The Thrift for Good Sustainability Hub in Al Quoz - please do come along and join us if you can! (See poster below for further details)

I’m heading back baring gifts from team UK in the form of 40 Angel Wings pads and 40 Soap Savers for our upcoming projects (watch this space for more details coming soon) and 7 little dresses that will make their way to Network for Palestine for the Pali-Boutique in Egypt (as well as a good selection of English biscuits to keep the team going as we sew! 😉).
I can’t wait to see team UAE again and feel the buzz of our hive as we launch into a very buzzy Q4 of exciting projects!

*Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day*

Menstrual Hygiene Day takes place every year on May 28 and has grown into a massive global movement over the past 10 years.

This global campaign focuses on the long-term mission to eliminate period stigma, provide accurate education and ensure universal access to affordable menstrual products and hygienic facilities.

The theme for Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026 is "Together for a ".

"Together" is crucial. No one can solve the menstruation-related challenges women and girls face alone. But together, we can.

We are delighted that the merger between Sew Bee-Cause and Thrift for Good has brought our two organisations even closer together to be part of the global movement to create a .

Join us on sewing days at the hub to help make our Angel Wings Kits (reusable sanitary pad kits), shop at the Thrift for Good stores, donate your preloved clothing or volunteer your time to support our projects that provide real solutions of classrooms, toilets, menstrual education and sanitary pads for women and girls in need around the world.

Good morning Bee’s

Tomorrow (Thursday 23rd April), is a very exciting day, at the Thrift for Good Sustainability Hub in Al Quoz, a day dedicated to all the crafters and creatives...🐝

🐝 From 9.30 -1 there will be sewing as usual upstairs in the Green Room.

🐝 From 1pm onwards there will be the first ever Crafter's Corner running throughout the afternoon with lovely crafty items for sale at very reasonable prices.

🐝 In the evening there will be a Movie-Mending night! 🍿

These events are open to the public so please do share in your community groups and sewing circles.
