Keeping our Government’s communication systems connected! 💻📞

The IT Department, represented by Troy Gibson, conducted a technical visit to the Land Registry Department to address issues affecting its PBX system — the technology that allows office calls to be made and received over a network using Voice over IP (VoIP).

🔧 The issue was successfully identified and resolved, helping to restore reliable communication services to the department.

Another example of our IT team working behind the scenes to keep Government operations running smoothly. 💙💛❤️

🇦🇬💻 CHOGM 2026 Preparations Underway: Strengthening Technology & Cybersecurity Readiness

As Antigua and Barbuda advances preparations to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026, representatives from the Ministry of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs), Utilities & Energy recently conducted technical site visits to Jumby Bay Resort and Coolidge Cricket Ground (Formally Sticky Wicket).

The Ministry team, including Troy Gibson and Claudia David from the IT Department, and Akeem Meade from the Cybersecurity Department, assessed connectivity, technology infrastructure, and cybersecurity readiness at both locations.

📍 Jumby Bay Resort

The team assessed Wi-Fi capabilities for CHOGM VVIP Delegates, cybersecurity readiness, and the physical security of technology equipment. The visit was led by Andre Johnson and Jamal Barnes from the resort’s IT team.

📍 Coolidge Cricket Ground

The team assessed the venue’s technological requirements as preparations continue to transform the compound for the CHOGM Business Forum, which is expected to host more than 500 participants, with support from Cricket West Indies (CWI). The visit was led by Michael Douglas.

These site visits form part of the Ministry’s continued efforts to ensure Antigua and Barbuda is prepared to deliver a secure, connected, and successful CHOGM 2026. 🇦🇬

📂 Milestone Monday | Survey & Mapping Digitization Project

The E-Government Department is celebrating the successful completion of the Survey & Mapping Division Digitization Project completed ahead of schedule on March 25, 2026.

Over four months, the team successfully digitized an impressive 12,639 physical documents, transforming important records into secure, searchable digital files.

The project has improved document storage, retrieval and information sharing, while reducing manual handling of physical records and helping to preserve important historical documents.

Despite challenges along the way, the team remained committed to delivering quality results and completed the project ahead of its estimated June 2026 deadline.

👏🏽 Congratulations to Project Lead Jenika Harris, Team Lead Nakiesa Willette, and team members Josian Serrant, Kwesi Joseph, Stephen Mason and Zadira Burton on this outstanding achievement.

🌟 DIGITIZATION EXCELLENCE SPOTLIGHT 🌟

At the Ministry of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs), Utilities and Energy, we believe that excellence deserves to be recognized and celebrated.

From May through July 2026, the eGovernment Department is proud to shine the spotlight on Tattiana Butts, Nakiesa Willette, and Josian Serrant, three dedicated members of the Digitization Unit who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, accuracy and consistency in supporting the ongoing Immigration Digitization Project.
