Moderate (G2) geomagnetic storm watch issued.

The CME produced by the M6.98 (M7) solar flare early this morning has been modeled and is forecast to glance past Earth sometime on Friday (Aug 28th). A moderate (G2) storm watch was officially added by NOAA/SWPC. High latitude aurora watchers should be alert. It should be noted that this timing comes after the upcoming lunar eclipse where viewers in much of North America to South America will see the Earth's shadow cover 96% of the Moon's surface just after midnight EDT on Aug 28. The end of this week could shape to be a fantastic time for night sky viewing!

📡ALMA Reveals Long-Lived Hotspots on Betelgeuse’s Bubbling Surface.

⭐️The observations show bright hotspots and an irregular, corrugated outline shaped by the enormous motions taking place within the star.

✨Located roughly 600 light-years from Earth, Betelgeuse is one of the closest red supergiants and has a radius about 800 times that of the Sun. Its immense size makes it possible for ALMA to resolve structures across its atmosphere that would remain hidden in most other stars.
