🌍 is proud to be at the United Nations Bonn Climate Conference

The Bonn Climate Conference is the United Nations' mid-year climate meeting. It's where governments, negotiators, scientists, and civil society do the technical groundwork between the high-profile annual COP summits. This year's session helps set the stage for COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye 🇹🇷

In Bonn, our delegation, led by Gayatri Karnik, is:

🔸 Advocating for the role of nuclear energy within the UN climate process and highlighting its contribution to achieving global climate goals alongside our partners, and International Youth Nuclear Congress.

🔸 Advocating for the role of women in the energy transition and the importance of ensuring the clean energy workforce reflects the richness of the communities it serves.

☢️ Regulatory Excellence Through People: WiN Global at the IAEA

Last week at the International Conference on Effective Nuclear and Radiation Regulatory Systems, proudly joined the plenary panel, “Empowering Women and Men: Rethinking Flexibility in the Regulatory Workplace”. With expert moderation by Bryan Denehy and sharp insights captured by Rapporteur Paige Witter, the session was truly memorable.

⚛️ Our stellar panel featured Pilar Lucio (Spain), Ditebogo Kgomo (South Africa), Peter Frobel (IAEA), and our WiN Global President Melina Belinco. Together, they emphasised that flexibility, inclusion, consistency, and strong leadership are more than buzzwords — they’re the backbone of regulatory excellence.

Hats off to the organisers for spotlighting this critical conversation on Day 1 in a packed plenary session! This perfectly echoes WiN Global’s mission: putting people, culture, and leadership front and centre.

👉 Beyond the panel, WiN Global President and Vice-President & Liaison Officer to the IAEA, Amal Elrefaei, PhD, connected with influential leaders: Sama Bilbao y Leon (WNA Director General), Jeremy Francis and Natalie Bonilla (CTBTO), Constanze Westervoss (IAEA Gender Focal Point), Nuclear Regulators for Gender Equity (NGRE), and — forging even stronger partnerships. This is in addition to the warm meeting with the Former WiN Global President Gabriele Voigt.

A huge thank you to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and all our partners for a week of meaningful connection and progress. Onward to more collaboration! 🤝🌐

NuclearEnergy Leadership

30/04/2026

🇰🇷✨One month ago, we were experiencing the incredible energy of Gyeongju!

It has been a month since the 33rd Annual Conference, hosted by , came to a successful close in South Korea. Looking back, the momentum generated by nearly 600 experts from 47 countries continues to inspire our mission 🚀

Under the theme "Nuclear Energy for New Challenges," we didn't just discuss technology—we discussed the strategic role of nuclear energy in addressing the climate crisis and the rising electricity demands of the AI era.

💜 We want to express our deepest gratitude to every participant, speaker, and member of the WiN Global community who took part in this historic gathering. A very special recognition goes to the WiN Korea community, whose dedication and organizational excellence under the leadership of President Young-Sil Sul made this unprecedented event possible.

⚛️ 33rd WiN Global Annual Conference Opening Ceremony: Our President’s Call to Reclaim the Power of Tenderness in Times of Global Urgency

In a world shaped by uncertainty, climate urgency, and growing pressure on energy systems, the future of the nuclear sector will not be defined by technology alone — but by people.

At the opening of the 33rd WiN Global Annual Conference in Gyeongju, Korea, our WiN Global President Melina Belinco reminded us what is truly at stake — and what is required from all of us 🤝

"Throughout history, women have played a critical role in advancing nuclear knowledge as a tool for peace, for wellbeing, and for cooperation. Today, that responsibility continues — and it grows" (...)

"Today's challenges — energy security, climate change, technological transformation — are not only technical. They are human. They require trust. They require cooperation. They require leadership that is inclusive, responsible, and deeply connected to society".

👉 At , we reaffirm a core conviction: nuclear science, guided by responsibility and dialogue, is a force for peace and cooperation. A commitment rooted in our foundation in 1992 — and one we actively carry forward today.

And at the heart of that commitment lies something essential, often overlooked, yet profoundly transformative — and Melina invites us to return to it: "May you always find your way back to tenderness — even when the world insists on making you hard."
