Update 7.05pm - A man has died following a crash at Craigmore.

About 2.10pm on Sunday 6 September, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Blair Park Drive and Yorktown Road following reports that a Hyundai sedan had struck a median strip and a pedestrian crossing before leaving the roadway and colliding with a tree.

Sadly, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 57-year-old Craigmore man, died at the scene.

Police are investigating whether a medical episode may have contributed to the crash.

The man's death is the 78th life lost on South Australian roads this year.

This Father's Day, we celebrate and thank all dads and father figures for their support and positive impact.

Superintendent Paul Isherwood and Sergeant Harry Isherwood, a father-son duo who both joined SAPOL with a shared commitment to serving the people of South Australia.

Paul joined SAPOL in 1987 and, over the course of his career, served in a range of leadership and specialist roles before moving to the Far North Region in 2023, and then the Yorke Mid North Region in 2026.

Following in his father's footsteps, Sergeant Harry Isherwood joined SAPOL, and their careers even crossed paths in Port Augusta, where they worked together for a short period.

While Paul and Harry's story is unique, family connections like theirs can be found across SAPOL.

Happy Father's Day 💙

South Australia Police has taken significant compliance action against a South Australian heavy vehicle operator following an extensive investigation by the Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section (HVES).

The investigation identified a pattern of serious non-compliance involving heavy vehicles operating with major safety defects, including defects affecting critical vehicle systems.

Investigators also identified circumstances where vehicles were allegedly operated contrary to defect notices.

As a result, SAPOL formed the reasonable belief that the continued operation of these vehicles posed an immediate and serious risk to the safety of road users.

On Thursday 3 September, HVES officers, supported by partner agencies, attended the operator's premises at Waterloo Corner and served a prohibition notice under section 576A of the Heavy Vehicle National Law.

The prohibition notice restricts the use of multiple heavy vehicles and prevents the transfer or disposal of those vehicles without appropriate authorisation.

During the operation, officers conducted further inspections of heavy vehicles located at the premises, resulting in the detection of numerous additional safety defects.
