When humans have always failed me, I have had them.
I’ve spent a lifetime being hurt by people.
Family.
People I trusted.
People I loved.
People I thought would stay.
Eventually, I learned that sometimes you have to let people go — not because you stopped caring, but because you finally started choosing peace.
I’ve learned to set boundaries.
To protect my peace.
To stop allowing toxic people to take pieces of me and bring me down.
Because every morning, I still wake up.
There are little lives waiting for me.
And they are what brings me the most joy.
The most happiness.
When I’m sad, they have this incredible ability to lift me back up.
They don’t judge me.
They don’t ask anything of me.
They just love me.
And at the end of the day, I’ve realised something…
The people I lose don’t matter nearly as much as the lives I save.
Because my purpose isn’t found in the people who hurt me.
It’s found in the kangaroos in my care.
The little lives that need me.
The lives I get to save every single day.
And that is enough for me. ❤️
