Fusetec - Advanced Surgical Training Creating true-to-life surgical training with fully operable replicas.

Designed with surgeons, for surgeons, we replicate complexity with realism and accuracy to prepare surgeons for reality, improve patient outcomes, and make training safer worldwide. Fusetec - Advanced Surgical Training combines the latest advanced technologies with the development of their own innovative solutions to create hyper-realistic, anatomical surgical training models, addressing the limit

ations and costs of traditional cadaver use. We work alongside notable medical professionals and universities to enhance the way surgeons train and operate, ultimately improving patient outcomes and advancing healthcare globally. We specialise in multi-material replications of specific pathologies for pre-operative medical evaluation, education and training. Fusetec is currently developing its own Intellectual Property for healthcare training products.

One of the hardest questions in surgical education is also one of the most important:

How do we know when someone is truly ready?

A trainee may have observed a procedure several times and even assisted with it. But what if they have only performed the most difficult part once? What if they have never encountered unusual anatomy?

The operating room will always be essential to surgical education, but it should not be the only place where trainees get to work through complex situations.

They need the opportunity to practice, learn from mistakes, and try again before a patient is involved.

At Fusetec, we believe readiness should be built through deliberate, repeatable practice rather than depending entirely on which cases happen to present.

For the surgical educators in our network, what tells you that a trainee is truly ready?

We’re proud to support WashU Medicine with Fusetec sinus models for hands-on surgical education.

Our models provide repeatable access to consistent anatomy, allowing surgeons and trainees to practice techniques, refine their skills and build confidence in a controlled environment.

Thank you to the team at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis for choosing Fusetec. We’re excited to see these models put to use!

This September, our CEO Mark Roe will represent Fusetec at IFOS Istanbul 2026, the XXIII World Congress of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.

IFOS brings together ENT and head and neck specialists from around the world to share knowledge, explore emerging technologies and help shape the future of education and training.

For Fusetec, it is an opportunity to listen, learn and connect with the surgeons, educators and industry partners working to create better pathways for hands-on surgical training.

If you’re attending, we’d love to hear from you.

How many repetitions does it take to become competent?

5? 10? 25? 50?

The answer probably isn't the same for every surgeon, or every procedure.

But there's a bigger question:

Are surgeons actually getting enough opportunities to practice?

Cadaver labs, courses and clinical experience all play an important role in surgical education. But access to hands-on training isn't unlimited.

What if a surgeon could practice the same procedure, or the same challenging anatomy, again and again before encountering it clinically?

That's one of the problems we're working to solve at Fusetec.

More access. More repetition. More opportunities to build competency.

For the surgeons and medical educators here: What role do you think repetition should play in surgical training?

Fusetec is proud to work with some of the world’s leading medical device companies, supporting hands-on training, product education, R&D and surgeon engagement across Australia, Europe, the Middle East and beyond.

As Fusetec continues to expand in the U.S., we’re looking to build those same partnerships here.

Our anatomically accurate, procedure-ready models give medical device teams a repeatable platform for surgeon training, product demonstrations, device evaluation, and education, without relying solely on traditional cadaver-based training.

We’ve seen what strong industry partnerships can accomplish around the world. Now, we’re excited to bring that experience to more medical device teams across the U.S.

If your team is looking for new ways to support hands-on training, education or product development, we’d love to connect.

There has been one question throughout the Fusetec journey:

âť“
How do we train a surgeon to competency?

Lord Kelvin once said:

“When you can measure what you are speaking about, and express it in numbers, you know something about it.”

👇
When anatomy, pathology and complexity can change from one training experience to the next with traditional methods...

It becomes difficult to know whether we’re progressing.

At the Center for Medical Innovation CMI - Center for Medical Innovation at the University of Utah, they have capacity to train on cadavers...

AND...

they have also added Fusetec to expand what their training facility can offer.

Specific anatomy.
Specific pathology.
Defined learning outcomes.
And the ability to repeat the same training experience.

That repeatability creates a more consistent basis for practice, feedback and measuring progression.

It also expands the capability and capacity of what a training centre can deliver.

Exposure matters.

But is exposure to random anatomy with traditional methods alone, often without pathology, giving the clearest pathway to competency?

We believe there is still a gap.
Let's bridge that gap together.

Cadaver training will always have an important place in surgical education. But access, cost, and logistics can limit how often surgeons actually get to practice.

Fusetec helps fill the gaps.

Our anatomically accurate surgical training models make it possible to practice procedures, techniques, and challenging anatomies repeatedly. In the lab, classroom, or clinical setting.

More access to hands-on training. More opportunities to build skill.
