Need Support During a Difficult Time? We're Here to Help.

Recently, a mother and her two teenage daughters came to Western Sydney Community Centre after experiencing homelessness and spending a week living in their car. Through housing advocacy, referrals, and support, the family was able to secure a new rental and begin rebuilding their lives.

This is just one example of how WSCC supports individuals and families facing hardship.

Our services include:
✔️ Information, referrals, and advocacy
✔️ Housing and homelessness support
✔️ Emergency relief assistance
✔️ Casework and practical support
✔️ Community programs and social connections
✔️ Support to access essential services

No matter what challenges you're facing, our team is here to help you find the right support and connect you with services that can make a difference.

We love seeing our participants discover and share their talents. Elijah, aged 65, has amazed us with his incredible drawing skills. Every artwork was created by Elijah himself reminding us that it's never too late to find a new passion or continue doing something you love. We are so proud of what he has achieved and look forward to seeing more of his amazing work.

At Western Sydney Community Centre, our NDIS services support participants to explore their interests, develop new skills, build confidence, and engage with their community. Stories like Elijah's highlight the importance of creating opportunities for people to discover their strengths and achieve their goals.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM

Learn valuable everyday information, connect with others, and take part in engaging community sessions designed to support your wellbeing and safety.

Recently, our group welcomed Hanna Nosir from the local health department for an informative carbon monoxide safety session ahead of winter. Participants learned about common household dangers, how to identify safety risks, and practical ways to keep their homes and families safe.

Our Community Engagement Program regularly covers topics such as:
✔️ Health and wellbeing
✔️ Home and personal safety
✔️ Community services and supports
✔️ Practical everyday information
✔️ Guest speaker presentations

Sessions are interactive, informative, and a great opportunity to build confidence, knowledge, and community connections.

The Digital Sisters Program, founded by the Good Things Foundation, helps eligible women develop practical digital skills for everyday life in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Recently, our participants had the pleasure of welcoming Maria and Florencia from the Good Things Foundation, who attended a session and spent time connecting with the group and to see how the program is helping women strengthen their IT skills and confidence.

A special highlight of the session was the distribution of mobile phones generously donated by the TPG Foundation, helping participants stay connected and continue their digital learning journey beyond the classroom.

Interested in building your digital and IT skills? Contact Amira on (02) 9649 2063 to learn more about upcoming programs and find out if you are eligible to participate.

We believe meaningful activities and social connection are so important for supporting the wellbeing of older community members.

Our participants recently enjoyed a fun hands-on group activity, filling jars with rice, coloured lentils, and corn before decorating them in their own unique style.

Activities like these encourage creativity, conversation, and connection in a welcoming and supportive environment. We have seen many participants grow in confidence, become more socially engaged, and build meaningful friendships through programs like this.

On 28 January, our senior group enjoyed a wonderful day out in Manly 🌊

We travelled together from Auburn to Circular Quay and caught the ferry across, taking in the beautiful views along the way. The group spent time at the beach, shared plenty of laughs, enjoyed fish and chips for lunch, and explored the local shops.

It was a fun, relaxed day filled with social connection, fresh air, and good company.
