Found on the Hume Hwy somewhere between Melbourne and Benalla. Domestic short haired cat, black and white in colour. This little lost soul unfortunately has no tag or microchip.

🐾🚧 Clarke Street Dog Park Temporarily Closed 🚧🐾

🌳 Please be advised that the Clarke Street Dog Park is temporarily closed while we undertake repair works following damage caused by a fallen tree limb.

🦺 The closure is necessary to ensure the area is safe for both dogs and their owners while repairs are completed.

🙏 We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.

📢 We will provide an update as soon as the park is ready to reopen.

🐶❤️ Thank you for helping us keep our community spaces safe.

The Benalla Community Expo - Come and Try Day connected over 800 people to local clubs, groups and organisations. In other words, it connected our community. 💜

Thank you to everyone who came along. It was fantastic to see so many people exploring new hobbies and trying new things.

There was truly something for everyone:
• Stepping inside a giant hot air balloon during the inflation demonstration
• Getting active with sports, like archery, cricket, athletics, lawn bowls, tennis and volleyball
• Exploring arts and culture

A huge thank you to our exhibitors. Your enthusiasm, time and effort helped make the day such a success. 💛

We also want to acknowledge the Benalla Social Inclusion Action Group and Tomorrow Today. Their hard work and coordination made this event possible.

We've had so much wonderful feedback. Many people told us they discovered activities, services and community groups they didn't know existed.

We’re looking for locals to join the Benalla Street Art Advisory Committee and help guide one of our most loved cultural events.

Committee members help shape festival programming, artist selection, walls to be painted, community participation and more. Meetings are held monthly (1–2 hours), with extra involvement as the festival approaches.

If you’ve got ideas, energy and a passion for Benalla’s creative future, we’d love to hear from you.

🌿 Free Green Waste Weekend is here! 🌿

Get your prunings ready and drop off your green waste for FREE this weekend. No fees, no fuss.

📅 Saturday & Sunday, 24–25 October 2026
🕛 12pm to 3.45pm each day
📍 Benalla Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre, 96 Old Farnley Road, Benalla

You can bring up to 4 cubic metres of green waste, including:
Lawn clippings
Branches
Garden prunings
Raw timber offcuts

A few things to remember:
Green waste must not be mixed with other materials
Domestic vehicles only (sedans, utes, and trailers up to dual-wheel tandem)

So clear out those prunings and pop the dates in your calendar now. It's a great chance to tidy the yard and help keep Benalla clean and green. 🍃
