The traffic changes are expected to remain in place for approximately three months.

These works are being undertaken by John Holland as part of the Inland Rail project. They are not a Benalla Rural City Council project. We are simply sharing this information to help keep our community informed.

๐Ÿšง Two intersection upgrades are continuing in our area

๐Ÿ“ Tarnook and Pagets Road
๐Ÿ“ Mitchell/Mackellar Street roundabout

Allow extra travel time, slow down, and follow the signs around these areas. Thanks for your patience while we make these roads safer for everyone.
____________________________________________________________________
The Mitchell/Mackellar Street roundabout upgrade was funded by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) due to the intersectionโ€™s high-risk status and conflicting vehicle movements, identified future traffic volume growth, and being an important north-south vehicle route connecting into the CBD area, particularly as an alternate route to the Nunn Street level crossing.

The project is fully funded through the TAC Safe Local Roads and Streets Program, which provides funding specifically for road safety projects like this on local roads that are managed by Councils.
