Great to see our Lions afternoon crew at Nunawading Bunnings BBQ all smiles as they feed the weekend DIY enthusiast.

We had an inspirational evening tonight with a guest speaker and a new member joining our club.

Our club has supported Kara Family Violence Service for many years and tonight their CEO Geraldine (Gez) shared the history, purpose and capabilities of the organisation. There were many challenging questions raised from the floor which Gez handled with her insights in the area of family violence. Needless to say she left us inspired to continue our support. Thanks Gez for taking time out to visit the club.

To make the evening complete, we also welcomed a new member into the club. John Barber is known to many of us via our founding member James Jamieson. John has already been involved in the club projects including BBQ fundraiser and the Trash & Treasure. It was a pleasure to have John and Linda with us this evening and we missed James not being with us on this occasion.

Our annual Kids with Cancer High Tea with Luncheon Is fast approaching.

We would love to have you join us for a delicious meal and numerous tempting delicacies. There will be raffles, a stall and handsome waiters to attend to your every need.

Trash and Treasure events are always a highlight on the calendar.

After a full day unpacking the shed and setting everything up yesterday, our Lions were ready to welcome the community for a great day of sales today.

The crowd starts lining up early eager to find their next treasure. You name it, we’ve probably got it. We get such joy seeing our regular supporters and welcoming first timers too.

For many it’s the enjoyment of seeing items of nostalgia. For others it’s the thrill of purchasing a new plant, something for the kitchen. Or that much needed extra tool for the shed.

Plenty of hard work from the team for this event but all worthwhile to be able to raise funds that go directly back into the community.

With laughter and great conversations to enjoy, be sure to mark 10th October 2026 in your diaries so you don’t miss our next sale.

We had a very busy and rewarding day at our Bunnings BBQ

On the 28th June 2026, our club celebrated 50 years of service in our community.

During our celebrations we were addressed by Paul Hamer MP for Box Hill, Cr Kirsten Langford (Mayor) of City of Whitehorse and by our Lions District Governor David Cordell. Other members reviewed the history of the club and described our current activities..

A special call out to former members Rosie and Mohan who came all the way from New Zealand to be with us.

Whitehorse City Council were well represented on the day with City Council by Cr Kirsten Langford (Mayor), Cr Kieran Simpson Deputy Mayor and Cr Prue Cutts. Our thanks to the council for their support of our endeavours in many ways.

There was club memorabilia laid out to help the recall of past events.

Thank you to the students of Blackburn High School Jazz Band for entertaining us at the welcoming.

Our BBQ fund raiser is in full swing with our morning and afternoon shifts. Our newest member has taken over the cooking, slipped right into the role. . Come on down and grab a snag.

It is the time of year where all the Lions Clubs change their officers and board. Tonight it was the turn of the Lions Club of Lysterfield Inc. and PDG Keith of the Lions Club of Blackburn was their to officiate at the installation of the new board. He also welcomed a new member Kapila into the Lions Club of Lysterfield. Also the best for a succesful year to President Michael and the Lysterfield Lions.
