๐ŸŽจ Creativity Thrives in Our Evans Academies! ๐ŸŽจ

As part of our Evans Academies and HPGE programs, the Art Studio provides students with the opportunity to extend their talents, explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills in a supportive and inspiring environment.

From sculpture and ceramics to painting, drawing, colour theory and character design, students are engaging in a diverse range of artistic experiences that challenge their thinking and encourage creative expression. The Art Studio is a place where students can experiment, take creative risks and bring their ideas to life while connecting with others who share a passion for the visual arts.

A huge thank you to Ms Freeman for her dedication, expertise and commitment to guiding and mentoring our students within the Creative Domain. Through her passion for the arts, students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, refine their skills and continue striving for excellence in their chosen creative pursuits.

We are incredibly proud of the creativity, enthusiasm and talent on display each week. Opportunities such as the Art Studio are a wonderful example of how our Evans Academies and HPGE programs provide students with pathways to extend themselves, pursue their passions and reach their full potential. ๐ŸŽจโœจ

๐ŸŽฅโš™๏ธ What did our students learn from Discover Engineering?

Curious about what itโ€™s really like to think and work like an engineer?

In this special student spotlight, our amazing Head Teacher Science, Mrs Bautista, sits down with some of the students who participated in the Discover Engineering workshop to hear firsthand about their experiences.

From designing and testing bridge structures to working collaboratively under pressure, our students share what they learned about engineering, problem-solving, teamwork and innovation. ๐ŸŒ‰๐Ÿ’ก

Their reflections highlight just how valuable hands-on STEM experiences can be in building confidence, curiosity and a deeper understanding of the world around us.

A huge thank you to Mrs Bautista for capturing these student voices and to our students for sharing their insights and experiences.

๐ŸŽฌ Hear directly from our future engineers as they reflect on what they gained from this exciting opportunity!

๐Ÿ”ง Engineering in Action at Evans High School ๐ŸŒ‰โš™๏ธ

In Week 4, a group of Evans High School students stepped into the shoes of real engineers during the Discover Engineering Incursion, proudly delivered in partnership with Engineers Australia.

Working in teams, students were challenged to design, build and test bridge structures using the Engineering Design Process. Through research, creativity, problem-solving and collaboration, students explored what it takes to create a bridge that is not only strong but also efficient and practical.

Using only popsicle sticks and their engineering skills, students investigated different bridge designs, tested their ideas and refined their creations through trial and improvement. The results were outstanding, with the winning teamโ€™s bridge successfully holding more than 25 kilograms during testing! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ—๏ธ

๐Ÿ† Congratulations to our overall champions, Group 5:
Ryan S, Ahmed A, Nitish and A***n M.

๐Ÿฅˆ Second place was shared by:
โ€ข Group 6: Ali Reza, Ritwik, Ahmed T and Brock
โ€ข Group 7: Vania, Caitlyn, Abhay and Shivteg

The feedback from Engineers Australia was overwhelmingly positive, with facilitators praising our students for their enthusiasm, teamwork, creativity and respectful participation throughout the day.

A huge thank you to the volunteer engineers from Engineers Australia for providing such an engaging and inspiring hands-on STEM experience. Opportunities like these help students connect classroom learning with real-world careers and future pathways.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented Evans High School and look forward to continuing to foster curiosity, innovation and a passion for STEM. ๐ŸŒŸ

A huge congratulations to Year 7 student Nevaeha Williams on her selection to compete at the 2026 Nunawading Spectres Tournament in Melbourne, representing the City of Blacktown Basketball Association (CBBA). ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ”ฅ
