🏉 JERSEY DAY IS TOMORROW! 🏀⚽🏐

Friday 4 September, Evans High School will be supporting Jersey Day and the Nathan Gremmo Community Network 💛💙

Students are encouraged to wear their favourite sporting jersey to school for the day and help us raise awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation.

There is no donation or payment required from students. Jersey Day is all about starting conversations, raising awareness and showing our support for this important initiative.

📸 Students who have permission for their photo to be taken may also be included in some group photos during recess and lunchtime. We’ll share some of these on our school social media and tag the Nathan Gremmo Community Network to show our support.

So whether it’s NRL, AFL, soccer, basketball, netball or your favourite local team, get your jersey ready! 🙌

🌟 Confidence. Connection. Possibility.

Our students recently participated in the ABCN Interact Program at MUFG Parramatta, working alongside workplace mentors to strengthen their communication, confidence and career-readiness skills.

The results were incredible:

💬 Confidence speaking in English: 17% → 100%
💡 Knowing their strengths and values: 26% → 100%
🎤 Understanding how to succeed in an interview: 0% → 100%
🚀 Seeing themselves in careers like their mentors: 17% → 91%

One student summed it up beautifully:

“I first came with 0% confidence, but now it’s like 100%.”

A huge thank you to ABCN, MUFG Parramatta, the mentors who generously shared their time and experience, and Cendel for coordinating this wonderful opportunity for our students. 💚💛

🤸‍♀Student Highlight 🤸

Congratulations to Ohriana in Year 9 on her fantastic achievements at the Gymnastics NSW State Championships held over the weekend at Sydney Gymnastics Centre.

Competing in Level 5 Women’s Pairs, Ohriana and her partner achieved:
⭐ 7th overall with an All Round Total of 47.367
⭐ 4th place in the Balance Routine with 24.600
⭐ 10th place in the Dynamic Routine with 22.767

We are so proud of your hard work and dedication, Ohriana!

🏊‍♀️💚💛 WHAT AN INCREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENT! 💛💚🏊‍♀️

A huge congratulations to Year 10 student Kiana, who has officially qualified for the 2026 Australian Short Course Championships! 🇦🇺✨

Kiana will take to the national stage competing in the 50m Breaststroke at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.

Qualifying for an Australian Championship is an outstanding achievement and reflects the dedication, commitment and hard work Kiana has put into her swimming.

The entire Evans High School community is incredibly proud of you, Kiana. We cannot wait to cheer you on! 💚💛

Making a Difference in Our Community 💚💛

We are incredibly proud of a wonderful group of our Year 12 students who recently led an initiative to create and donate care packs to the Harman Foundation.

This was a project the students were genuinely passionate about and really drove themselves. They took ownership from the beginning, carefully organising and packing the donated items and putting so much thought, pride and care into creating something that would genuinely help others in our community.

Following the donation, we received a beautiful message from the Harman Foundation acknowledging the girls and sharing "Your thoughtfulness, generosity and willingness to support our work truly means a lot to us".

Representatives from the Harman Foundation also visited Evans High School to meet with the students and personally receive the donations, giving the girls an opportunity to see where all of their hard work was going.

We are incredibly proud of these young women for the compassion, initiative and community spirit they have shown. What began as something they felt passionate about became an initiative that will make a genuine difference to others.

Well done, girls. You should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved. 💚💛
