Behind the Scenes of

Today we are sharing behind the scenes photos from our meetings with Peter, Bruce and Daniel, who are helping us piece together SAS’ history, through their first hand experiences working at SAS.

We believe it’s incredibly important to preserve the hard work and dedication of everyone who has come through the doors of Self Advocacy Sydney.

Sharing the stories and celebrating the impact that SAS has had on both individuals and the greater community, as we continue to fight to improve accessibility and inclusivity for people with intellectual disability.

Self Advocacy Sydney attends The 1997 Disability Expo at the Panther’s Pavillion

You may recognise these iconic photos!

If you have been following Self Advocacy Sydney (SAS) for a while, you might have seen these photos before in reports, social media posts, and in booklets.

These photos have come to represent the Harris Park era of SAS from 1994 - 2000.

These photos feature staff and clients wearing merchandise especially made for the 1997 expo where they had the opportunity to share what SAS does to support people with intellectual disability.

Today, Self Advocacy Sydney continues to attend expos and events.

We share information about our programs and services and how we support people with intellectual disability to speak up, have their voices heard, and know their rights.
