💜 PERSEPHONE IS LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME 💜

Council reference number: IMP-26-01250
S*x: Female
Breed: Beagle
Age: 3 yrs

Beautiful Persephone is ready to find a family of her own.

This sweet girl can be a little shy when meeting new people and takes some time to build trust, but with patience, understanding, and a gentle approach, you'll be rewarded with a loving and loyal companion.

Persephone absolutely adores other dogs and will need a home with a calm, friendly canine companion to help her feel safe and settled. She has a particular soft spot for fellow beagles! She also gets along wonderfully with cats, making her a fantastic addition to many households.

Because she can be quite anxious and sensitive, Persephone is looking for a quiet, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace. For this reason, she would be best suited to a home without young children.

Persephone has so much love to give and is just waiting for someone willing to give her the time and understanding she deserves. Could that someone be you? 🐾

📌 Please note: Persephone is APPLICATION ONLY.

If you wish to meet or adopt her, you will need to complete the above application. The more information you provide about your lifestyle and home, the higher your chances of being considered.

Successful applicants will be contacted to arrange a meet and greet with Persphone, and this must include your current dog to ensure they are a good match.

If you have a quiet, understanding home and a friendly dog who could help guide him, Persephone could be the girl who steals your heart. 🐾

📦Calling all local businesses and community members!

Hey everyone, We’re on the lookout for cardboard trays like the ones shops use for milk, cans, or produce.

We’d love to repurpose them as disposable litter trays for our cats in isolation. If your store or workplace has any spare trays lying around, we’d be so grateful to take them off your hands!

You can drop them off at 20 Owen Street Glendenning. Every little bit helps us keep our cats comfortable and our cleaning process efficient.

Thank you so much for your support! 💛🐾

✨ NEW MONTH, NEW LONG TERM RESIDENTS ✨

With the beginning of a new month comes our newest long term residents — the animals who have been patiently waiting that little bit longer for someone to choose them ❤️

These beautiful souls often get overlooked as newer animals arrive, but they have so much love to give and deserve families of their own just as much as every other pet in our care.

To help give them the extra chance they deserve, all featured long term residents come with a reduced adoption fee:

🐈Cats: $100
🐶Dogs: $150

Some are goofy, some are shy, some are playful and some just want a comfy couch to curl up on — but every single one is dreaming of a forever home.

Please take a moment to share their posts, tag your friends and help us find these deserving animals the happy endings they’ve been waiting for 🐾

**Update: ADOPTED

🐾 Meet Millie 🐾
Council reference number: IMP-26-01257
S*x: Female
Breed: Jack Russell
Age: 6-7 yrs

Millie is a loving, affectionate girl who thrives on companionship and prefers having her people around most of the time—she’ll happily stick by your side and be part of whatever you’re doing. She’s highly food motivated and eager to learn, which makes training fun and rewarding for both of you.

Millie would suit a home with dog-savvy children who understand how to interact respectfully with dogs. She may be best in a cat-free household, as she’s likely to chase, and she would really benefit from having another friendly dog companion to help her feel settled and confident. Overall, Millie is a sweet, loyal girl who will make a wonderful addition to a home that can give her the time, guidance, and love she deserves. 🐾

🐾 Meet Wombat 🐾

Council reference number: IMP-26-01248
S*x: Male
Breed: Beagle
Age: 3yrs

This handsome Beagle is on the hunt for a special home that understands that good things take time.

Wombat is a self-confessed ladies' man and tends to feel much more comfortable around women than men. He can be a little unsure in new situations and with unfamiliar people, so he'll need a patient owner who is happy to let him settle in at his own pace and build trust on his terms.

A calm, quiet home would suit Wombat best. He is looking for a home with another friendly, confident, and relaxed dog who can help show him the ropes and give him reassurance as he adjusts to family life. The good news? He also gets along well with cats!

Wombat loves spending time outdoors, sniffing, exploring, and enjoying the fresh air. While he enjoys company, he's not looking for a busy or chaotic household. Older, dog-savvy children who understand the importance of giving him space and respecting his boundaries would be ideal.

If you have a calm home, a gentle approach, and room in your heart for a sweet boy who just needs a little time to blossom, Wombat could be the perfect addition to your family. ❤️

📌 Please note: Wombat is APPLICATION ONLY.

🐾💊 Dog Loaf Donations Needed! 💊🐾

We’re calling on our amazing community to help us keep tails wagging! Our pups sometimes need to take their medication, and the easiest (and yummiest!) way to do that is hidden inside delicious dog loaf.

If you’re able to donate dog loaf, it will make a huge difference in helping us give our dogs their medication stress‑free — and with a smile on their faces. 🐶💙

Donations can be dropped off at BARC during opening hours. Every loaf helps us care for the dogs in the best way possible.

Thank you for your kindness and support — our pups appreciate it more than you know! 🐾✨

What an incredible month May has been for adoptions 🐾

We are so grateful to our amazing community for helping our animals find their forever homes. Every share, comment, tag, recommendation and kind word helps our dogs and cats reach more people — and because of that, so many animals didn’t have to wait long to start their next chapter.

To everyone who adopted, fostered, shared our posts, supported us, or simply cheered our animals on from afar… thank you. It truly takes a village, and we are constantly blown away by the compassion and support our community shows our shelter pets.

Watching these animals walk out the doors with their new families never gets old. From long-term residents finally getting their chance, to nervous pets finding patient homes, every adoption means the world to us.

Thank you for continuing to believe in adoption and helping us change lives, one animal at a time ❤️

ADOPTION UPDATE: SABLE AND MAVIS

"Hi,

I would like to give you an update regarding Sable and Mavis a bonded pair that my son adopted earlier this month.

They are settling in well in particular Sable who seemed very comfortable a lot faster than Mavis.

Sable can and will get up to mischief destroying the lounge room when nobody is around. Eats plants so all the toxic ones were removed and tries to eat our food on the table cheeky but funny but what I particularly like is when she comes down and suddenly appears just around the corner of the lounge watching me or our dog Astro who are friends now including kissing. So cute.

Mavis spent a lot of time hiding and boy can she hide giving both of us a workout for some time but her cute little face is priceless.

Mavis did not take to Astro until recently and now they are fine just needed time which was fine.

Sable and Mavis were not together for some time it was constantly Sable on her own however I am happy to say that starting three days they are together all the time.

They are great a real joy for the household.

I have attached photos and I would like to thank you for your dedication to animals finding a good home which Sable and Mavis have and will flourish.

Have a very happy Christmas
Kind regards"

Thank you for giving these two beautiful girls the home they deserve! We love to see them thriving outside of BARC.

We love to see updates of our ex BARC animals - please send them through to our email! If you are happy for us to share it on our social media pages, please include this detail in your email as well! 🥰
