Yesterday, my colleague Jade and her Dad Jason, mounted another Carrington Menu Display in one of the Hotel's History Cabinets. The Menu chosen was from February 1951.
On the 15th of that month, the Carrington Hotel hosted around 100 guests from the cruise ship RMS Caronia.
As most of the guests were from the USA, the
Carrington's Chef, Keith Robinson, offered suggestions such as Sweet Corn, Apple Pie and Whipped Cream, and Cantaloupe.

During the week, I shared 1960's - 1980's Carrington History with a guest who's writing a novel, which will include the Carrington from that era.
I showed the guest this photograph, which to me is indicative of the faded opulence of that time.
A banquet table, with a stack of sliced bread at one end.
Am I being too harsh? Give me your thoughts.

A few years ago, my eldest son gave me a first hand account of a cricket match he saw at the SCG, on the previous day.
Knowing the distance between Sydney and the upper Mountains is the same today, as it was in 1788, I wondered how soon did Gundungurra people in the upper Mountains, hear about the English ships sailing into the Harbour? For this was a huge event.

Many thanks to all of you who supported my Tour Business last year - especially my guides, Sue, Jade, Jarrod and Pete.
School tours, Senior's tours, Carrington Hotel tours and research, and other research work will continue this year - the 30th year of the business - and we even have two School tours booked for Sept. 2027!
