🚜 What will the EPBC reforms mean for your property and the way you manage your land?

AgForce is hitting the road to help Qld producers better understand the changes and what they could mean in practice 🐑 🐄 🌾

The AgForce EPBC Roadshow will give producers the opportunity to hear the latest on the reforms, understand key compliance and risk management considerations, and learn more about the issues AgForce continues to raise on behalf of industry.

Importantly, you can also ask questions directly of government representatives and provide feedback on where the Farmer’s Guide needs improvement.

Credit where it's due. The State Government has listened to Queensland farmers and delivered meaningful amendments that better protect agricultural land and landholder rights under the Critical Minerals Bill.

AgForce welcomes the removal of renewable energy projects and data centres from State Strategic Project powers and the preservation of important protections for strategic cropping land and prime agricultural land.

But we're not done yet.

We still have concerns with the breadth of the power of the modification orders and their interaction with the requirements for a Regional Interest Development Approval.

We are still concerned with the lack of proponent funding for professional costs - no farmer should be worse off for engaging in good-faith negotiations.

We're not satisfied with the current ability for the proponent to obtain an access authority and start enabling works before any agreements are entered into with the proponent.

AgForce will continue pushing for fair compensation and for stronger protections that ensure landholders receive fair treatment and fair outcomes.

We thank the government for listening and our members for their strong advocacy.

Great progress has been made. Now let's finish the job.
