Last week, our Senior Manager of Client Engagement, Georgia Colley teamed up with Regional Area Manager for the North West and Gulf, Sam Fryer, at the iconic Richmond Field Days and Races!

With nearly 100 exhibitors, exciting events like the bull sale, Richmond Mower Race, Ringers Challenge, fireworks, and live music, it was a fantastic celebration of North West Queensland’s vibrant community and industries.

“It was a great day with a lot of excitement in the area and industry! There was farm day/sorghum day held at Maxwelton on the Wednesday before, and a few discussions around farming at the field day,” said Sam.

If you’re interested in learning about QRIDA’s First Start Loans or Sustainability Loans and are located in the North West and Gulf, contact your local Regional Area Manager, Sam Fryer, on 📞 0427 007 240.

QFF is hosting a Tips and Tools for Tough Times workshop for farmers on Thursday 18 June with Elizabeth McNaughton, Founder of Disastrous.

Farming is unpredictable. Drought, natural disasters, global market shifts, and the pressure of carrying it all can wear even the toughest of us down. This workshop is your chance to step back, connect with others who get it, and arm yourself and those around you with some genuinely useful tools.

Elizabeth will guide you through the Doing Well cards, a practical deck of 100 cards that distils decades of recovery knowledge and neuroscience into simple, everyday actions. You'll build a personalised wellbeing and resilience plan you can actually use on the farm.

📆 Thursday, 18 June 2026
🕘 9am arrival for 9:30am start - 2:30pm
📍 Miners Lantern Event Space, Tamborine Mountain Glades
Tamborine Mountain Rd & Cedar Creek Falls Rd,

1. “I’d like to start my own primary production business but I’m not from a farming background – how can a QRIDA First Start Loan help me?”
2. “The weather predictions aren’t looking for good moving forward, what financial support does QRIDA have to help me prepare my property for drought?”
3. “I’m interested in applying for a QRIDA Sustainability Loan to help me invest in ag-tech that will help improve my business – what information do I need to apply?”
4. “My property was severely impacted by flooding earlier this year. Would I be eligible for any disaster recovery financial assistance?”
5. “I’d like to better understand the assistance available at QRIDA and how it could help my business. What is the best way to do this following Emerald AG-Grow?”
