Yesterday, Victoria Police Legacy was honoured to attend the memorial service in Bright for Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim De Waart-Hottart, joining family, friends, colleagues and community members to reflect on their sacrifice and service.
It was a privilege to lay a wreath in recognition of their sacrifice, and to honour and remember all police members who have lost their lives in service.
At the Bright Police Station, VPL's Louise was pleased to connect with police legatee Iris Heydon, who also attended to pay her respects and honour the memory of her husband and those police members who have served and sacrificed.

We Will Remember Them.

Today marks one year since the tragic loss of Victoria Police members Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim De Waart-Hottart who were killed in the line of duty .
Their courage, dedication and sacrifice will never be forgotten. As we remember them, we also acknowledge the loved ones, family, friends and colleagues who continue to carry the weight of their loss.
Their passing continues to leave an immeasurable impact on all who knew them and loved them.

We will remember them.

Last Saturday, 10 of our police legatees from across Victoria came together for a men's day out at the Carlton v Fremantle AFL game.
Over lunch, plenty of footy banter and a healthy dose of armchair umpiring, the group enjoyed the opportunity to catch up and strengthen connections with one another.
We're grateful for opportunities like these that help foster friendship, support and connection. 💙
