At Camira State School, we love celebrating the efforts and achievements of our students. Throughout the term, students have been working hard to demonstrate our school values, show positive behaviour, and strive for success in their learning.

This week some of our students have reached 500 crocs and are receiving their CSS highlighters! Well done on your achievements!

Our school community came together today to celebrate Under 8's Day, a special occasion dedicated to recognising the importance of play, learning, and creativity in the early years.

Students enjoyed a morning filled with engaging hands-on activities that encouraged imagination, problem-solving, collaboration, and fun. From creative arts and crafts to outdoor games, sensory experiences, and interactive learning stations, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The event highlighted the vital role that play-based learning has in supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as students explored, created, and learned alongside their peers.

A special thank you goes to our dedicated staff, volunteers, community organisations and families (especially the Lawton Family) who helped make the day such a success. Their support and enthusiasm contributed to a memorable experience for all involved. Thank you also to Coles Springfield for their donation of paper bags for the children to carry around their creations.

We are going ahead with our Under 8’s Day this morning. There is light rain scheduled towards the end of our morning so if you would like to send a raincoat with your child today, please do! Any parents or family members attending, might like to bring along an umbrella.
We will be reading our story at the end of our morning today, so our students will be heading out to the activities around 8:50am to get in as many activities as we can before the rain comes. We are still looking forward to a fabulous morning and can’t wait to do all the wonderful activities.
