Celebrating the educators who shape our littlest learners. 🧑‍🏫

Today is Early Childhood Educators Day and we’re celebrating educators and student educators like Tamanna, who dedicate their time to building important learning foundations for young children.
With support from CIT and the SPARK program, Tamanna is now developing skills and confidence while growing her understanding of children’s learning and development.

A taste of Italy came to the CIT kitchens! 🍽️👨‍🍳🧀

Last week our culinary and hospitality students had the opportunity to learn from renowned Italian chef and TV personality Chef Luca Ciano.

Our students picked up new techniques and created dishes inspired by Italian flavours, with taking centre stage. Fresh truffles from The Truffle Farm Canberra made the experience even more special.

The masterclass was a great opportunity for our students to learn from an industry professional, build practical skills and try something new in the kitchen.

Grazie, Luca!

We were honoured to host the national launch of National Skills Week 2026, with our students at the heart of the event.

Hospitality students brought their skills to life preparing and serving breakfast for guests. Barista students showcased their craft, coffee in hand for every visitor. Floristry students put their training on display through the event's floral arrangements. Alongside these, student showcases and hands-on demonstrations gave guests a closer look at the skills CIT students are building across the board.

We also welcomed the Hon Andrew Giles MP, Australian Minister for Skills and Training, Caitlin Tough MLA, and representatives from WorldSkills Australia and the broader vocational education sector. Minister Giles also recognised our ACT Skillaroos as they prepare to represent Australia in Shanghai.

National Skills Week celebrates the opportunities vocational education and training can provide. Whether you’re starting your career or looking for a new direction, CIT offers practical, hands-on courses to help you build your skills.

What starts as a question can lead to an incredible discovery. 🌱🔬

This National Science Week, we're celebrating the theme Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all and the curiosity that drives us to learn more about the world around us.

At CIT, our Forensics and Biometrics students gain hands-on experience in forensic identification, biometric systems, digital imaging, facial comparison and document examination, turning curiosity into practical skills that can make a real difference.

Whether it’s solving complex challenges, investigating evidence or exploring new technologies, science is all about asking questions and following where they lead.

Ready to turn curiosity into a career? Explore your options and discover more about our science facilities at CIT Open Day, Friday 14 November https://cit.edu.au/citevents/open-day

Behind every brushstroke is a story 🎨

For CIT Yurauna students Rhiannon and Wesley, the mural at CIT Yurauna substation is more than a piece of art. It’s a reflection of culture, country, community and the stories that connect them all.

Drawing inspiration from the landscapes, waterways and wildlife, the mural captures personal connections to a place while celebrating the importance of caring for country and sharing knowledge through art. For Rhiannon, the artwork reflects the healing power of art and connection to Country, while Wesley's design highlights the importance of caring for the land and sharing those stories with community.

Beyond the finished mural, the project gave both students the opportunity to build confidence, express their creativity and contribute to something that will be enjoyed by others for years to come.

Next time you're visiting Yurauna, take a moment to stop by the mural and take a closer look.
