EVENT: Astronomy Viewing Evening, attended by students of Year 10 Astronomy, Year 11/12 Physics, teachers, parents and a few extras! We had a great evening sharing some of the night sky. 5 telescopes were on hand, including the two school ‘scopes. We looked at the moon, Jupiter (and its 4 Galilean moons), the binary star Alpha Centauri and the red supergiant Betelgeuse (said many more times than the obligatory 3!). We studied a star nursery, Orion Nebula (M42), and star clusters Pleiades, Pin Cushion and Jewel Box. The first (and not the last) star party at CDSC! 🌟 🔭 🪐
