Smile on Seniors is dedicated to connecting with Community members based in Non-Jewish Aged Care faci Codirectored by Rabbi Menachem and Esther Stern

What a beautiful, energetic and meaningful Pre-Rosh Hashanah event, with more than 100 seniors joining us for an incredible afternoon together!

We schmoozed, laughed, sang, danced, were inspired — and had an absolutely amazing time.

A big shout-out to Rabbi Menachem Stern, who warmly welcomed everyone, blew the shofar and shared all the exciting upcoming programs happening at our Smiles Hub every Wednesday.

A huge thank you to Rabbi , who entertained and inspired us with a powerful message about approaching Rosh Hashanah with less judgement and more understanding.

And of course, thank you to Gil and Gidi, our fantastic entertainers, the wonderful boys from the Cheder Levi Yitzchok choir, and all of our incredible volunteers who helped make the afternoon so special.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped fill the room with so much joy, warmth and community spirit.

What a hugely successful Smiles Hub we had this on Wednesday!

It was wonderful to see so many of our seniors come together for an afternoon filled with inspiration, connection, delicious food and plenty of good shmoozing.

Miri Lipsker gave a fascinating and highly interactive talk on graphology, exploring what our handwriting can reveal about our personalities and helping us discover a little more about who we are.

Dassi then spoke beautifully about miracles — both the big ones and the small ones — sharing some of the miracles she has experienced in her own life. This sparked a meaningful discussion as our seniors shared and reflected on the miracles they have experienced too.

A truly warm, uplifting and thought-provoking afternoon. Thank you to our wonderful speakers and to everyone who joined us and made the Hub so special!

With over 40 years of experience in Jewish education, Leon Blacher is an inspiring educator and former Director of Jewish Studies and Wellbeing. His engaging, discussion-based approach brings Jewish learning to life.

We had a massive turnout at our Smile on Seniors Hub, featuring guest speaker

Sheina captivated the room as she shared about her upbringing, her parents, and life after December 14, when her father, Reuven Morrison HY"D, was murdered in the Bondi terrorist attack. Her words were powerful, deeply moving and inspiring, leaving everyone feeling connected, strengthened and uplifted.

We were also privileged to hear thought-provoking words of Torah from , and we finished the afternoon on a beautiful note with singing led by Rabbi Stern.

A truly meaningful afternoon of connection, inspiration, community, yummy food and a good schmooze.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to invite you to our next Smiles Hub Afternoon Tea & Shmoozing on Wednesday 29 July, featuring guest speaker Leon Blacher on “You Chose This, And This Chose You”.
