NAIDOC Week is a special time to come together to celebrate, reflect and learn.

This year’s theme, 50 Years of Deadly, marks an important milestone, celebrating five decades of NAIDOC Week and honouring the strength, resilience, leadership and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across generations.

It is a moment to honour the trailblazers who have paved the way, celebrate today’s achievements, and inspire the next generation of leaders, innovators and change-makers.

At eHealth NSW it is also an opportunity to recognise the progress we’ve made, reflect on the work still ahead, and reaffirm our commitment to creating a workplace where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people feel respected, valued and supported to thrive.

One of the highlights each year is our NAIDOC Week Celebration, this year held on 1 July 2026.

The event featured a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, cultural performances, and interviews with Aboriginal artist Lee Hampton and Leona McGrath, Manager of Aboriginal Maternal, Child, Youth and Family Health at NSW Health. A meaningful reminder of how far we’ve come, and how important it is to keep listening, learning and taking action 🖤💛❤️

Artificial intelligence is opening new possibilities for digital health helping teams work smarter, deliver services more efficiently and improve outcomes for patients and staff.

At eHealth NSW, we are exploring how AI can transform both corporate and clinical functions building smarter systems and empowering our people across the health system.

GitHealth Copilot is a key example. This statewide AI‑powered coding assistant provides real-time suggestions in the code editor, helping developers reduce repetitive tasks, work more efficiently and focus on high‑value work.

Early results are promising, with pilot participants saving an average of 10 hours each week and building skills faster through real-time support.

Small changes in health technology can deliver big sustainability gains 🌿

Through the eHealth NSW Application Consolidation and Decommissioning Program, we’re partnering with NSW Health organisations to streamline legacy systems, reduce energy use and minimise e-waste – while keeping digital services secure and resilient.

A recent collaboration with Northern NSW Local Health District and Central Coast Health has helped modernise local ICT environments and improve sustainability outcomes.
