One of the eye opening times for many about politics has been Covid. One of the key issues that had people notice Gerard Rennick was Covid. It changed so much, on individual levels within family and friendship circles, on employment levels with many having to make hard sacrifices to stand for what they believed in, on a mainstream media level with many able to see MSM for it’s propaganda and government to see who they cared to protect.

It was a hard time to have a baby, to lose a loved one, to work, to go to school, to connect, to get the care we should expect from doctors and nurses, to be free. Free to speak or post an alternative message, free to go to the park in the middle of the day with your child, free to go to work without your vaccination status being any knowledge to your employer, free to go to a local cafe, free to visit your loved one, to go to their funeral, free to sit at the beach. It sounds crazy what we lived through and it’s easy to put it in the rearview but we shouldn’t forget.

As Gerard points out, if you are against vaccine mandates you should be against wage mandates. If you don’t like Blackrock and other globalists, you shouldn’t like the centralised control of people’s money that are Superfunds.

Don’t be swept up in the narrative that the government has spun to you about Superannuation.

You should be able to pay down your home quicker. The cost of houses is making it harder for people to come up with a deposit, pay their home loans and repay their loan before retirement because people aren’t entering into homeownership until they are much older, just like people are delaying starting a family. The only people who benefit from you having a 30 year loan is the bank who gets to make interest every year and post ridiculous profits and there are a lot of people in Super funds making a lot of money off your money whilst you struggle to get ahead.

Don’t knock the idea of voluntary superannuation until you have looked into it more. You can still contribute to a self-managed or retail or industry fund, but you should have the choice to use your money to invest in your future your way.

We get the curiosity. Who we preference on our How To Vote (HTV) cards can reveal a lot about who our party aligns with and whether it aligns with your values. And we get it. The Illusion of Choice is real and it’s easy to be hoodwinked with some of the political fronts out there. The truth is, People First Party preferences have generally gone to minors first then Libs, Labour, Greens and Teals. But which minors? And it wasn’t that way in your electorate at the last election?

Fair questions. And we aren’t being deliberately illusive, it’s because it’s really not as simple as general strategy. Any discussion on who we preference years or months out from an election really needs to address a few key things:

1. HTV preference order is dependent on the electorate and the candidates and we don’t know that until an election has been called.

2. HTVs are a guide only and to fully engage in the democratic process, you should number the boxes they way you want to. In order of your preference. Not ours.

If you have been following Gerard Rennick or People First Party for even a short amount of time, it hopefully won’t take long for you to realise who we align with, what we stand for and what our policies are.

Though it’s really hard to figure out who gets the bottom spot these days, there’s a few great contenders, it’s hopefully becoming really clear who gets your number #1 vote, and that’s us, People First Party, because you should always vote for a minor you really believe in first. Don’t let the majors and their mouthpieces convince you it’s a wasted vote. It’s not wasted. It counts and it matters.

Australia first. No foreign interest. No billionaire buddy club. It’s that simple. The policies for People First Party, and into the future with Australian People’s Party, are and will be Australia first. Gerard’s stance on that is as strong and unwavering as his stance on Covid.

This is Queensland. This is our backyard. This our home. It’s becoming clearer everyday that we are the only party that is truly Australia first. To make sure people with big pockets and foreign friends don’t give our land and tropical islands away we need your help. It’s time to sign up as member or as a volunteer, hopefully both, to help build People First Party to what it needs to give you representation in Canberra. Australia needs People First Party and we need you.

There has been so much happening within the Party and it’s about to get busier. Along with our branches building, being at local Shows and markets, holding branch meetings and information sessions, Gerard has also been working on achieving something many have been asking for right from the start. Minor party mergers. His discussions with Australian Citizen’s Party have culminated in an agreement to merge the two parties. The change you will notice is more people doing more things to get more people aware that we are a minor party with great policies that deserve your number 1 vote on your ballot come election day.

The changes don’t stop there though. Given the court proceedings regarding the name People First, the decision has been made and the process has commenced for our name to change to Australian Peoples Party. Over the coming months this will be start to be seen across our pages and website. The name is changing, we are merging, but our policies are the same.

We really do believe that these changes keep us moving in the right direction, to build and to show Australians we have the solutions to move Australia in a better direction. Australian Citizen’s Party want to join us, maybe it’s time you do to pfp.org.au/membership.

People First Party believes in supporting parents to raise their children and making the choices they need for their families. FIFO workers, shift workers and part-time workers should not be disadvantaged with their care arrangements, and for some families, the subsidy could support a parent to stay at home and raise their own children.

There are many reasons mums and dads can’t or don’t want to access child care. People First values families and your choice.

High royalties sound great, but on top of existing company tax 25% royalties would cripple our resource industry leading to lost jobs and far less taxes overall.

People First Party knows we can’t tax our way to prosperity - unlike labour who takes more and more. We will empower Australians to succeed and get ahead.
