Thank you to our volunteers!

Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Animal Justice Party.

Without the incredible people who make our work possible, we would have never achieved significant wins for animals.

The theme for National Volunteer Week this year is "Something for Everyone," and that perfectly reflects our amazing volunteers. Whether you're passionate about elections, campaigning, keeping the office running smoothly, attending a protest or using your creativity for social media, there's a way you've contributed to the movement.

Volunteer voices are powerful! With meaningful conversations through outreach, campaign efforts, raising your voices at rallies or signing petitions you've helped shift hearts and minds on critical animal protection issues. You're the reason we have been able to keep animal welfare at the forefront of the political conversation.

However, it is too easy for volunteers' efforts to go unrecognised. Hundreds of you contribute thousands of hours and unwavering dedication to our movement, and for that we extend a sincerely heartfelt ❤️🐾 THANK YOU! 🐾❤️

Together, we're making a real difference for animals.

If you’d like to get involved and join our volunteer family, we’ll find you a meaningful role in the fight for animal justice!

For over a decade, Farm Transparency Project has been bringing awareness to what happens behind closed doors on Australian farms and slaughterhouses, but we never expected to capture footage like this…

"BREAKING NEWS! A live export ship heading to the Middle East has had to divert due to security risks in the Red Sea. How many more disastrous voyages will we see before the Albanese government acts to end this cruel trade?"

Yesterday, in breaking news, a live export ship with sheep onboard was diverted due to risks in the Red Sea. The sheep, already at sea for two weeks, were facing uncertainty.

The Australian government has now ordered the ship return to Australia.
Live animal export is a cruel, risky, unsafe process and should be banned.
Please email your local MP and Senators to ask where they stand on ending live export:

Big thanks to our Animal Justice Party Coffs Harbour members Kellie Pearce and Tess Hawkins for jumping into action for these poor hens. They are now helping to find them homes.

When a trailer of hens overturned on a NSW highway, it was up to the RFS and two animal lovers to rescue them, dodging B-double trucks and crawling through thick undergrowth.

Feeling pretty chuffed - we cornered and exposed Racing NSW and the horse racing industry in the last minutes of Parliament this year.

In an extreme effort to avoid accountability and oversight, a Bill on behalf of thoroughbred racing has been canned. Here's what happened.

The racing industry wanted to extend the tenure of their chairperson Russell Balding. Balding though has been linked to failures on national progress on animal protection in the industry, and under his watch, horse deaths in NSW have remained consistently high.

The Labor Government were keen to do the racing industry’s bidding and change the law to allow Balding to stay on another 2 years, despite that making his appointment 14 years, against their own treasury that board appointments should not extend past 6 years.

We fought the Bill. Together with the opposition and cross bench we passed amendments for accountability and transparency in horse racing, because no one knows how many horses are killed or rehomed and Racing NSW won't release the information.

But it seems the industry could not cope with the idea of transparency. So much so the Labor Government canned their own Bill. Which means bye, bye Balding and the horse racing industry doesn't get to bully democracy.
