The Pascoe Vale Labor Branch stands in solidarity with the striking National Tertiary Education Union members at RMIT and Monash University!

At the March branch meeting, the Pascoe Vale Branch passed a motion in support of workers at RMIT who are on strike.

It has been over 1000 days since RMIT staff’s Enterprise Agreement expired, yet management has not come to the table to properly address job security, academic freedom, excessive hours and fair pay.

The Pascoe Vale Branch supports the rights of workers to organise in unions and to struggle for better working lives.

Minister Andrew Giles and the Australian Labor have delivered on their election commitment to create a permanent pathway for those on TPVs and SHEVs.

This is a big announcement for many who have lived in limbo for many years not knowing what their fate will be.

After years of limbo due to the policies of the previous Liberal government, the Albanese Labor Government is letting TPV and SHEV holders to move forward with their lives - to more fully contribute to Australia, gain secure employment, grow businesses, study more easily, sponsor eligible family members to Australia and pursue a pathway to Australian citizenship.

We know that we can keep our borders safe, while showing humanity too.

What a year it has been. We helped elect a Albanese Labor Government and then re-elected a Andrews Labor Government within a matter of months.

This would not have been possible without the hard work of our members and supporters.
