🚒 A great night at Cookernup Station for our very first fire Cadets!

Our cadets kicked off their journey with an induction session, station orientation, and truck familiarisation and yes… they definitely tested the sirens 🚨😉

It’s fantastic to see such enthusiasm from our future firefighters and community leaders.

A big thank you to our volunteers who gave their time to make the night a success.

Welcome to the Cookernup Bush Fire Brigade Cadets 🔥💚

The focus is on learning, teamwork and personal development not emergency response.

Program details:

• Start date: February 2026
• Training time: Mondays 6:30pm – 7:30pm
• Location: Cookernup Station

What your child will learn and experience:

• Introduction to basic firefighting concepts, including hose handling and pump awareness

• Radio use, basic map reading and first aid awareness

• Teamwork, leadership and communication skills

• Participation in community events and team-building activities

• A strong sense of belonging and community involvement

The Fire Cadets program is about giving young people positive experiences, role models and skills they can carry into their future whether that leads to emergency services volunteering or simply greater confidence in everyday life.

2024 Santa Run

You better watch out,
You better not cry,
Better not pout,
I'm telling you why,
Santa Claus is coming to town.
He's making a map,
and checking it twice;
Gonna find out who's going to be about,
Santa Claus is coming to town.

What to expect...

Cookernup Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade will be doing their annual Santa run on Christmas eve.

They will be escorting Santa around the streets of Cookernup and spreading Christmas cheer with lollies for the kids.

Please keep an eye on the Cookernup Bush Fire Brigade page and keep an ear out at home for the sirens and Christmas songs to find out where Santa is.

*Please note that as the Cookernup Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade is an operational brigade, every effort will be made to carry out this event on the scheduled date however operational requirements do take precedence.
