Southern Inland NSW severe weather
Stay indoors
Watch and Act

The NSW SES is advising people in the following area(s) to STAY INDOORS due to intense rainfall, flash flooding:

- Wagga Wagga
- Yass

You should monitor the situation as it is constantly changing.

What are we expecting?

The Bureau of Meteorology advises tropical humidity continues on the eastern flank of a low in the far southwest of the state near the Victorian border, resulting in a broad rainband with isolated thunderstorms. The low is forecast to move east today, with rainfall clearing from the west in its wake.

Locally INTENSE RAINFALL which may lead to DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODING is possible today, most likely between Griffith and Yass this evening with isolated thunderstorm activity. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 70 to 90 mm are possible.

The risk of HEAVY, LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL is forecast to ease throughout during Tuesday morning.

Flood Watches and Warnings are current for the area. Please refer to https://www.bom.gov.au/weather-and-climate/warnings-and-alerts/ for more information.

This event may change quickly. NSW SES will monitor the situation and update warnings if the situation changes.
