WE'RE BORN TO LEARN.

One of the most beautiful parts of learning to swim is that progress doesn’t always look like a huge milestone. Sometimes it’s something tiny.

A child who used to hold on finally lets go.
A nervous swimmer puts their face in the water.
A kick becomes a little stronger.
A float lasts a little longer.
And suddenly, something that once felt difficult starts to feel possible.

That’s what makes the swimming journey so special. It teaches children that they don’t have to get everything right the first time.

They can try.
They can wobble.
They can have another go.

And with encouragement and consistency, confidence grows.
Those lessons reach far beyond the water.

Because learning to swim isn’t just about becoming a better swimmer. It’s about developing capability, independence and confidence that children can take with them wherever life takes them.

Born to Learn. Born to Swim. 💙

WE'RE BORN TO EXPLORE 🌊
There’s something about water that brings out a child’s natural curiosity.

The splashing, kicking, bubbles.
The “what happens if I do this…?” moments. Every little discovery is part of learning to feel comfortable and confident around water.

For our swim family, watching that confidence grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of the swimming journey.

It’s not about rushing to the next skill or expecting every child to progress at the same pace. It’s about giving them the opportunity to explore, discover what their body can do and build positive experiences around water.

Because when children feel confident, they’re more willing to try, learn and challenge themselves.
And those early moments of exploration can become skills they carry with them for life.

Every child has their own journey.
Let them explore it.

Born to Explore. Born to Swim. 💙

A week of training, connection and new experiences 🏊‍♀️🌴

Recently our Rackley Swimming Centenary National Pathway Squad recently travelled north to Rockhampton for a special training camp experience.

14 swimmers headed to the Rockhampton 2nd World War Memorial Pool to train, challenge themselves and continue their development as some of the next generation of swimmers.

With Coach Dan Busch leading the camp, supported by Kelly from Rackley East Brisbane, the team embraced the opportunity to train in a new environment, build stronger connections and experience everything the region has to offer.

What better way to prepare our swimmers than by stepping outside their normal routine and training in a local community pool — developing not only as athletes, but as people.

The team also enjoyed a visit to Koorana Crocodile Farm, making the most of their time in Rockhampton and creating memories away from the pool.

This camp was a special milestone, with:
🏊 14 National Pathway Squad swimmers attending
🇦🇺 1 swimmer preparing for Junior Pan Pacs later this year
🏆 2 swimmers heading to Canberra this week for the Next Wave Invitational

A big thank you to the Rockhampton community for welcoming our swimmers and helping make this experience one to remember.

🏊✨ Brisbane Open House 2026!

This year, we’re proud to showcase not one, but two of Brisbane’s most iconic aquatic venues — Centenary Aquatic Centre and Health Club and the historic Spring Hill Baths — as part of this incredible city-wide celebration.

📍 Visit Centenary Aquatic Centre & Spring Hill Baths during Brisbane Open House 18–19 July 2026 and experience these incredible spaces for yourself.

💙 Centenary Aquatic Centre (Spring Hill)
A true Brisbane landmark, Centenary Aquatic Centre is a state heritage-listed architectural icon designed by James Birrell and opened in 1959 as Brisbane’s first Olympic-standard pool. Known for its bold Mid-Century Modern design, sweeping concrete forms, mosaic detailing, and iconic diving tower, it remains a major hub for swimmers of all levels — from squad training and lap swimmers through to community programs and fitness sessions.

Whether you know it for your early morning laps or have admired it from the grandstand, Open House is your chance to experience it in a whole new way and appreciate the design and legacy behind one of Brisbane’s most significant aquatic spaces.

🏛 Spring Hill Baths (1886)
Step back in time at one of Brisbane’s oldest and most charming swimming venues. First opened in 1886, Spring Hill Baths offers a completely different experience — intimate, relaxed, and rich in history.

With its heritage-listed indoor pool, classic tiled interiors, and old-school character, it’s a place where generations of Brisbane locals have learned to swim, trained, and enjoyed the water in a calm and welcoming environment. It’s a true hidden gem in the heart of the city.

🌟 From Olympic-era ambition to 19th-century heritage, these venues tell the story of how swimming has shaped Brisbane’s community, health, and culture for over a century.

We can’t wait to welcome you through our doors.

🐨 Let’s Learn About Koalas! 🐨

The Rackley Swimming team visited the amazing Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary today, getting up close with one of Australia’s most loved native animals — the koala!

Did you know?
🌿 Koalas sleep up to 18–22 hours a day to conserve energy from their low-nutrient eucalyptus diet
🌿 They have unique fingerprints almost identical to humans
🌿 Baby koalas (joeys) spend their first months safely tucked in their mum’s pouch
🌿 Koalas rely on healthy, connected bushland and clean environments to survive in the wild

Just like our little swimmers learning to float, kick, and build confidence in the water, koalas also depend on safe environments to grow, rest, and thrive.

By learning about and protecting wildlife, we’re helping future generations — in and out of the pool 💙

Every Child Deserves Water Safety 💙

Since 2025, Rackley Swimming has proudly partnered with the AWSOM Project to help deliver life-saving swimming and water safety education to children in Vietnam.

Through AWSOM's Survive and Thrive Program, children with disabilities are given the opportunity to learn essential swimming and water safety skills, along with access to transport so they can safely attend lessons.

As part of this commitment, each of our venues sponsors a child through the program, helping create opportunities for children to gain confidence in the water and learn skills that could one day save their life.

While water safety is something many of us may take for granted, for thousands of children around the world, access to swimming education can be life-changing.

For just $62, you can also sponsor a child for an entire year of swimming and water safety lessons. Together, we're helping create a world where every child has the opportunity to learn life-saving skills.

We're incredibly proud to support a program that is making a real difference, one child at a time.

🌏 Anybody can drown. Nobody should.
💙 Every child deserves the opportunity to learn life-saving water safety skills.

Ahoy, little pirates! 🏴‍☠️💦

Water Safety Week is getting a brand new twist again… introducing Water Safety Adventure Week!

Join the adventure NEXT WEEK from 15 - 21 June 2026 as we turn the pool into an exciting Water Safety Adventure, filled with fun activities and important life-saving lessons.

During this exciting week, swimmers will set sail through adventure-themed activities designed to help them build essential water safety skills before the school holidays. We know kids learn best when they’re having fun, so our lessons will include pirate challenges where they’ll practice floating, treading water, and learning how to help a fellow pirate if they “walk the plank.”

It’s the perfect way to build confidence in the water while developing skills that can keep them safe all year round.

Mark the dates, you won’t want to miss lessons during Water Safety Adventure Week!
