September is nearly here and we are starting to see some beautiful spring weather. We are excited for more sunny days and lots of outside play.
We have a visit from Oral Health on Thursday 17, Mini Mates on Saturday 19 and Footy Colours at Kangaroo Kids Mini Movers on Friday 25.
Our Swap, Take or Donate Clothing Market will be on Friday 2 October, which is the last day of term 3. We will be accepting donations of clean clothing suitable for children birth- 5 years up until Thursday 1 October.

Join us for the Book Week Parade at East Devonport Primary School tomorrow morning 😊

We are very excited for Book Week starting next week, 24-28 August, at the CFLC!! Come along in your favourite character and bring along your favourite book to show us.
On Tuesday 25 August we have been invited to join East Devonport Primary School Dress Up Parade. Meet us at the CFLC at 9:00 and we will walk over together.
** Please note that there will be No toddler Time at the CFLC for this week.

🐧H5 bird flu update
Tasmania has recorded one new positive bird flu case overnight.

A little penguin collected from Grassy yesterday has tested positive. A second little penguin sample was inconclusive, with both samples sent to the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness for further testing.

The little penguin mortality event is not considered a mass mortality event. The condition of other deceased penguins meant they were unsuitable for testing, so their cause of death could not be confirmed.

Our teams continue to closely monitor reports of sick and dead birds, with surveillance results informing the ongoing response.

Information sessions have been held on King Island, with NRE Tas staff speaking with residents, local government representatives and media about surveillance and management of bird flu.

Information signage has also been installed at key locations on King Island.

There is still no evidence of a mass mortality event and no detection of bird flu in Tasmanian poultry.
