The NSW Rural Fire Service – Lower Hunter Support Brigade is looking for new members to join our team and support frontline firefighters across the district.

Our brigade plays a vital behind-the-scenes role that helps keep firefighters safe and operations running smoothly during major incidents, training, and community events.

🚒 Support roles include:
• Catering & canteen support
• Logistics & equipment support
• Base camp & strike team support
• Administration & communications support
• General incident support

You don’t need to be a firefighter to make a real difference. If you’re organised, enjoy helping others, and want to support your community during emergencies, there’s a role for you.

🚒 Structure Fire – Swan Bay 🚒

This afternoon, volunteers from the NSW RFS – Lower Hunter Support Brigade were deployed to assist firefighting operations at a structure fire in Swan Bay.

Our crews provided Breathing Apparatus (BA) support, supplying firefighters with fresh air cylinders so they could continue their work safely inside the hazardous environment.

Support brigades play a vital role in ensuring frontline crews have the resources they need during extended incidents.

🚨 WEEKLY WRAP-UP – SUPPORT IN ACTION 🚨

This week, our dedicated volunteers at the NSW RFS – Lower Hunter Support Brigade have been hard at work right across the district! 👨‍🚒🚒

✅ We’ve helped ensure fire coverage by relocating trucks to key areas
✅ Delivered essential equipment and uniforms to multiple brigades
✅ Attended a power line down incident on Clarence Town Rd at Seaham

All up, our crews travelled over 1,500km this week to make it all happen! 💪🛣️

🚨 Early Morning Callout – Structure Fire Support 🚨

At approximately 4:30am this morning, the Lower Hunter Support Brigade was activated to assist at a structure fire in Tanilba Bay.

Our crews provided vital support to operational firefighting teams by supplying fresh Breathing Apparatus (BA) cylinders, helping to keep frontline firefighters safe and operational.

A big thank you to all crews involved for their dedication and teamwork in the early hours.

🪑 Organising chairs, tables & resources for crews
🍏 Creating a safe, comfortable space for rest & support
