Thank you to all the students and VET teachers that attended the 2026 Trade & Tech Fit career expo at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. It was an interactive two days for female and gender diverse secondary students meeting tradespeople, apprentices, training providers and industry professionals directly, exploring a range of career and study pathways in trade and technology industries.

We were one of nearly 100 exhibitors that provided valuable career advice and VCE VET program information to students attending from across Victoria.

As part of our commitment in delivering the VCE globally with quality, integrity and consistency, we were honoured to participate in the VCE Transnational Conference and VCE Offshore Conference in China and Malaysia recently.

During this time, we were able to have important conversations with principals, VCE leaders and teachers from Victorian schools and their offshore partners.

Rachael Whittle delivered keynote addresses at both conferences: Prepared for Success: The role of curriculum in developing future ready individuals, and supporting Joanne Watkins and Bonnie Hermawan presenting a number of sessions focused on supporting high-quality VCE delivery in offshore settings.

Key themes included education in the age of AI and global partnerships for shared success, with valuable opportunities to strengthen teacher capability, share expertise and support implementation in offshore schools.

“I’m ecstatic and incredibly grateful; having my work recognised by VCAA not just once but twice has reinforced my value of exploring new ideas and putting myself out there, even when I doubt myself. It’s also given me a stronger sense of confidence in my voice and creative choices…” - VCE Leader and Top Scribe writer Tasmiya Haque.

We spoke with Tasmiya about her experience of the 2025 VCE Leadership Awards and selection for Top Scribe 2026. Read the full article ➡️ https://bit.ly/4pv9Dau

✨ Introducing the Recognition of Learning Statement ✨

Every student's learning journey is unique, and meaningful engagement in learning is an achievement worth recognising.

The Recognition of Learning Statement acknowledges students who have meaningfully engaged in learning throughout their education, including their senior secondary years, but whose learning is not reflected through existing senior secondary certificates due to individual circumstances.

Victorian schools will soon be able to access the Recognition of Learning Statement, providing an inclusive way to recognise and celebrate students' commitment to learning, effort, persistence and engagement.
