Last night, our Senior Band students participated in a fantastic Combined Bands performance, joining with our cluster primary schools and local high school.

Our students did an amazing job performing both as our Senior Band and alongside the combined cluster bands. It was wonderful to see their hard work, confidence and musicianship on display.

👏 Well done to Mrs Snow and all of our Senior Band students — a fantastic performance! 🎺🥁🎷

Congratulations to all of our students who were recognised today at our Semester 1 Academic Commendation and Spirit of Learning Awards.

It was wonderful to celebrate the outstanding effort, perseverance and positive learning habits demonstrated by so many of our students throughout the first half of the year.

During the ceremony, Mr Gordon spoke about the importance of always giving our very best in everything we do, taking one step at a time on our learning journey, setting meaningful goals, and working consistently towards achieving them. Success doesn’t happen overnight—it is built through dedication, resilience and a commitment to continual improvement.

A huge thank you also goes to our incredible teachers for their passion and commitment to helping every child reach their potential, and to our wonderful parents and families for the encouragement and support you provide at home. Together, we create the strong partnership that helps our students thrive.

Congratulations once again to all of our award recipients. We are incredibly proud of your achievements and can’t wait to see what you accomplish in Semester 2!

Please note: A small number of students who qualified for awards were unable to attend today’s ceremony as they were proudly representing our school at the Strings Fiesta, showcasing their musical talents. These students will be presented with their certificates at our next Senior Gathering so they can be recognised alongside their peers.

Mrs Luff was lucky enough to take our school leaders to Albany Creek SHS for a Leaders Breakfast with our cluster primary schools and the student leaders at AC. They heard from two amazing community leaders, Phil Newman and Jean Heath from AVEO Retirement Village, who spoke about the importance of integrity in leadership and taking accountability for mistakes. They were certainly inspiring to listen to!

Today our School Captains and Mr Gordon had the privilege of being hosted by Minister Tim Mander for a private tour of Queensland Parliament House, followed by a wonderful lunch.

We would like to sincerely thank Minister Mander for his generosity and hospitality. He is always incredibly giving of his time and has been a wonderful supporter of our school for many years. His genuine interest in our students and our school community is greatly appreciated.

Our School Captains thoroughly enjoyed this unique opportunity to learn more about Queensland’s Parliament and the important role it plays in our state. It was an unforgettable experience and one they will remember for years to come.

Thank you once again, Minister Mander, for your ongoing support and for making today so special.

🏆 REGIONAL CHAMPIONS! 🏆

We are incredibly proud of our Dance Excellence Team, who competed at the regional finals of Dance X.

Our team was the only state school to qualify for the regional finals, competing against an outstanding field of private schools—and they delivered an amazing result!

🥇 First Place – Jazz
🥇 First Place – Lyrical/Contemporary
🥈 Second Place – Lyrical/Contemporary

The team has now been crowned regional champions and has qualified for the Queensland Finals in October!

Congratulations to every member of the team for your talent, commitment and teamwork, and a very special thank you to Mrs Wilcox, their incredible dance teacher, for her passion, dedication and guidance.

What an outstanding achievement—we could not be prouder! 💃🕺✨

Yesterday our Senior Choir participated in the Creek to Hills Choral Workshop. They were very lucky to be conducted by Queensland Composer and conductor Katherine Rhule. They performed two of her compositions Umbrella and It’s All About the Rule as well as a composition by Mr Gillard. Their performance at the final concert at the end of the day was outstanding.
