On Saturday 5 September between 2 - 5pm, come along to Edendale for an afternoon of fun and engagement with a Climate Fresk activity.

A Climate Fresk is an interactive workshop where you can build your knowledge base about climate facts and figures (based on IPCC data), and how they all fit together in the big picture. It represents an opportunity to learn about climate change in a supportive, non-judgemental and non-polarised environment, and to connect with others about these important issues. There will also be a chance to debrief at the end of the workshop.

It is open to everyone, beginners and experienced climate campaigners alike, and all will come away from this event feeling more informed, engaged and empowered to take action. Led by experienced facilitators from People for Nature and supported by Nillumbik Environment and Climate Action Hub (NECAH), the Nillumbik Climate Action Team are very excited to be bringing you this informative and fun activity.

In just 3 hours you'll:

✅Build a visual "climate puzzle" in a team
✅Understand the system behind climate change
✅Discuss real solutions and actions
✅Connect with others who care and want to act

On Saturday 19 September between 12 - 1.30pm, REthink Nillumbik is running a "Lost Skills: Build your own clothing repair kit" workshop at Edendale. The workshop follows on directly from the Repair Cafe, which runs between 10am-12pm.

Having a basic repair kit at home means that minor damage doesn't have to mean the end of a garment. This practical session will walk you through everything you need to put together a sewing kit that covers the most common clothing and textile repairs.

You'll get advice on exactly what to include - from different types of needles and what they do, to the essential tools for patching holes, fixing hems, sewing seams and more. You'll also learn how to use each item in your kit effectively. By the end of the session, you'll understand what to reach for, and why, when a repair comes up at home.

During the workshop, you'll also make your own bespoke needle holder from felt, complete with some free needles to get your kit started. It's a simple, useful project that gives you a safe and organised way to store your needles and leaves you with the first item for your new kit.

This session is for beginners and those wanting to learn more about making their own sewing repairs. No experience is necessary and all materials for the session are provided.

To book in for this free session, please go to events.humanitix.com/lost-skills-build-your-own-clothing-repair-kit
