What a fantastic way to celebrate Chappy Week!

Our Certificate III Hospitality students showcased their industry skills in planning, food preparation, service and teamwork by preparing and serving a delicious breakfast for staff yesterday. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to apply their learning in a real-world setting while demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.

Well done to all involved. We are proud to see our students putting their learning into practice!

National Chaplaincy Week 2026 runs from May 31 to June 7, and is an annual event hosted by Scripture Union (SU) Australia to raise awareness and support for the valuable work of school chaplains.

This week, at EPSHS we are celebrating the important contribution of our school chaplain, Chappy Jono. Known for his competitive UNO skills, impressive tech knowledge, handy-man talents, and love of the outdoors, Jono is also a trusted support for our students and families. He provides social and emotional wellbeing support, food relief assistance, and compassionate care during times of grief and loss.

Chappy Jono’s kindness, practical support, and positive presence make a real difference in our school community every day. During this special week, we thank him for the care, encouragement, and connection he brings to Everton Park State High School.

Respect is one of our core school values and is at the heart of a positive school community. 💙

This fortnight, our PBL focus is: "We are respectful in our interactions and relationships." By listening to others, valuing diversity, showing good manners, and following directions, we help create a school where everyone feels connected, supported, appreciated, and safe.

🌟 Only 2 weeks to go until the PBL Superdraw at the Week 9 Assembly! With nearly 2,000 tickets already collected, keep making positive choices for your chance to win an iPad and other fantastic prizes.

How do you show respect in our school community?

As part of National Reconciliation Week 2026 and this year’s theme, All In, our Wellbeing Team brought students together for a collective painting activity — a meaningful opportunity to connect, reflect and learn. The theme reminds us that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility and encourages all Australians to take meaningful action toward understanding, respect and unity.

We were also lucky to welcome Neil, our Police Liaison Officer, along with Winnie - the very popular police support dachshund, who brought plenty of smiles to the day!
