In mid-2025, the Gooloogong Log Cabin Committee successfully applied for and secured a grant from the SW Government Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality, and Sport - Office of Responsible Gambling 'Club Grants - Category 3'. The project encompassed several key tasks: replacing the stumps and piers and re-levelling the northern end of the main floor, hardscaping the front area to enhance access and drainage, and reconditioning the hall and stage floors.
James Carlisle Builders of Forbes undertook the significant task of replacing the piers and re-levelling, addressing the challenges posed by years of use that had caused the floor to sink. Meanwhile, Richard Ryan of Lachlan Valley Landscaping worked diligently through the summer heat to create an attractive entrance that ensures safe access for event guests.
Adrian and his team from Exclusive Floor Sanding, based in Sydney, skilfully restored the floors through extensive sanding and polishing, preparing them for another 90 years of use.
The committee extends its gratitude to the NSW Government Office of Responsible Gambling and the skilled tradespeople involved in executing these substantial improvements. These grants along with the funds raised through our annual Esky Ball all help to enhance this beautiful venue.
