Just a reminder for tomorrow!

We are upgrading water booster pumps that will impact water pressure between 9am and 12pm in Goondiwindi, tomorrow, Wednesday 2nd September.
Water will still be available for households and businesses, but let's leave car washing and lawn watering to another day please!

𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶

As part of the water booster pump upgrade works in Goondiwindi, Council would like to advise that residents and businesses will experience reduced water pressure between 9am and 12pm on Wednesday, 2nd September 2026, while essential works are carried out on the existing network.

During this time, Council request that you restrict your water usage to household and business use only, please refrain from outdoor water use, including lawn and garden watering, vehicle washing and other non-essential activities.

Council is aware of the impact that these works may have and will endeavour to minimise any disruptions. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience during these important infrastructure improvements.

Last week I attended an event hosted by the where our very own Shane Matchett from Goondiwindi Engineering spoke about his business - the opportunities he sees in partnering with local school students to grow his own workforce, the growth of industry across our Goondiwindi Regional Council area and the way in which our business work together. Goondiwindi was well represented at the event, with Dewayne from Hayes Spraying also attending to hear about what support is available and network with other manufacturers from across the Darling Downs.

They have been asked to capture rural landscapes in their own accomplished medium, culminating in an amazing display of varied interpretations in contrasting mediums, including oils, ink, watercolour and ceramics.

What an absolute honour to emcee the Rotary Club Goondiwindi QLD Changeover dinner on Saturday night!

29 years ago I was a Rotary exchange student, so I dusted off my Rotary blazer and helped celebrate the year that President Alan Rae has had with his board of volunteers, and congratulate Charles Clark as the new President.

Rotary does so much across our region including Goondiwindi Community Bookshop Rotary Gourmet in Gundy and the values of and are lived daily by all the volunteers. We also have Goondi kids living in Austria and Germany at the moment and they will come back with such wonderful memories and gratitude I'm sure.

Congratulations to Amy Brennan, Tait and Coral O'Shea for your well deserved acknowledgements!

Shout out to Josefa who has just arrived for her exchange in Goondiwindi from Chile! Meeting 80 Rotarians amd guests in your first 30 minutes of landing in town was a great effort! No doubt Hbiki will fill you in on the community you will call home for the next year.
