WELL DONE TO OUR SENIOR ROCK BAND!

On the weekend, our Senior Rock Band took to the stage at the IMSS Festival at Belmont City College, showcasing their incredible talent and hard work!

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to perform and celebrate their dedication to the Inspire Music Program, in collaboration with Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS).

We are so proud of the commitment, passion and enthusiasm our students continue to show for music. What a great performance!

EXPLORING CAREERS IN THE AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE

Students in Years 9 - 11 who are interested in pursuing a career with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) recently attended an exciting excursion to the Aviation Heritage Museum in Bull Creek to explore the wide range of career pathways available to them.

Students heard informative presentations from the Army, Navy and Air Force, learning about entry pathways and the many opportunities available across the ADF. They also enjoyed hearing from a panel of ADF personnel who shared their personal career journeys and experiences.

The day was packed with hands-on experiences, including a push-up challenge, VR experiences and an engaging museum tour guided by former ADF personnel, who shared fascinating stories and insights from their time in service.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain a deeper understanding of life in the ADF and the diverse career pathways they could pursue.

The Beat the Bell Challenge has struck again!

A huge congratulations to Jasmine Farrell, our second Golden Ticket Winner!

By making it to school before the morning bell, Jasmine discovered the Golden Ticket hidden inside her chocolate bar - and walked away with a brand-new pair of Apple AirPods 4!

BOOK WEEK IN THE LIBRARY!

What a fantastic Book Week we’ve had in our Library! Based on this year’s theme, ‘Symphony of Stories’, students enjoyed fun activities at lunchtime throughout the week, with the Library filled with music from our talented music students performing book-themed compositions.

Our Top 20 Readers were also treated to a special morning tea to celebrate their dedication to reading, complete with delicious food, prizes and great conversations with fellow book lovers, staff and Mr Dullard.

Get ready for a full day of action, competition and school spirit at our Athletics Carnival!

There’s something for everyone to enjoy:

A FULL DAY OF SPORTING EVENTS
Students will battle it out across a range of track and field events, with plenty of opportunities to compete, cheer and earn points for their house!

PARENTS & SPECTATORS WELCOME!
We’d love to see our school community there supporting the students. A designated spectator area will be available so you can sit back and enjoy the action.

FOOD & DRINKS
Feeling hungry? Enjoy delicious options from our food trucks, plus the P&C sausage sizzle will be firing up throughout the day!

DRESS-UPS & SCHOOL SPIRIT
Get creative and show your house pride with your best dress-ups! The more colour, energy and enthusiasm, the better!

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Meet Oscar, who has shown incredible dedication to gaining real-world skills and experience while preparing for his future career!

Between 2025 and 2026, Oscar has completed more than 350 hours of Workplace Learning, successfully achieving a Certificate I in Agriculture and a Certificate II in Engineering Foundations. He is currently studying a Certificate III in Business and a Certificate II in Automotive Servicing.

Through his workplace experiences with Allspec Engineering, AES Equipment Solutions and MINELINK, Oscar has impressed employers with his enthusiasm, commitment and willingness to learn.

Oscar consistently brings a positive attitude and a smile to the CAVE office, and his dedication to developing his skills is a fantastic achievement.

Well done, Oscar! Your hard work is building a strong foundation for your future career.

VWA SCHOOLS CUP – WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!

We are incredibly proud of our SRC Inspire Volleyball students and their outstanding results in this year’s VWA Schools Cup!

With five teams entered, every team gave us something to celebrate:

9A Boys - CHAMPIONS
Our Year 9 boys claimed the VWA Schools Cup Championship, with Michael Bernand Lariosa named MVP!

11A Boys - CHAMPIONS
Our Year 11 boys also brought home the title, becoming VWA Schools Cup Champions!

10A Boys - RUNNERS-UP
A huge effort from our Year 10 boys, finishing second after an incredible battle against Sacred Heart. The final went to a tight third set, with our boys going down by just two points. What a fight!

9 Honours Girls - GRAND FINALISTS
A massive milestone for our program! Our 9 Honours Girls have defeated specialist volleyball schools to earn their place in the Grand Final, where they will take on Rossmoyne:

We would love to see as much SRC support as possible as our girls take on the challenge of becoming the best school team in the state!

12A Girls – 4th
Our Year 12 girls battled incredibly hard in a highly competitive division, finishing 4th on percentage. Their final placing doesn't tell the whole story, with a draw against the team that finished second and a narrow loss to eventual winners Gilmore College, who had three state players in their team.

Across our five teams:

🥇 2 x VWA Schools Cup Champions
🥈 1 x Runner-Up
🏐 1 x Honours Grand Finalist - still competing for the state title
4️⃣ 1 x 4th-place finish in a highly competitive senior division

More importantly, our students represented Southern River College with enormous heart, resilience and pride.

The continued growth of the SRC Inspire Volleyball Program has been incredible to watch, and these results show just how capable our students are of competing with some of the strongest volleyball programs in WA.

One more big push for our 9 Honours Girls this Saturday!
