Wollongong, Nowra & Campbelltown — Ruby has capacity! 💙

We’ve been a little quiet here at DDS… 👋

That’s not because things have been quiet behind the scenes! Our team has been at full capacity, supporting participants far and wide and doing what we love - providing meaningful, person-centered support that makes a genuine difference in people’s everyday lives.

We’re excited to introduce Ruby, who has capacity to support participants across Wollongong, Nowra, Campbelltown and surrounding areas.
Ruby brings experience working as both a Support Worker and Learning Support Officer, providing her with a strong foundation in understanding behaviour, recognising individual needs, and appreciating the importance of person-centered support. This is further strengthened by her psychological studies.

Ruby is passionate about supporting people to feel heard, understood and empowered, while promoting choice, independence and an improved quality of life.
She believes in taking the time to understand each person as an individual, recognising their unique strengths, experiences, needs and goals. Creating a supportive and respectful environment where people feel comfortable expressing themselves and are actively involved in shaping their support is at the heart of her approach.

Ruby places a strong emphasis on building genuine, trusting relationships with the people she supports, while working collaboratively with their broader support networks. Her goal is to provide practical, individualised support that promotes meaningful and sustainable outcomes.

Ultimately, Ruby wants to contribute to positive change that makes a genuine difference to a person’s everyday life, independence and overall quality of life.

If you or someone you support is looking for individualised, person-centered support across Wollongong, Nowra, Campbelltown or surrounding areas, we’d love to hear from you.

✨ Six Months of Delight Disability Services ✨

We wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredibly meaningful first six months at Delight Disability Services.

We are so grateful (and yes, a little delighted!) to have had the opportunity to support more than 80 people across our community during this time. Every person we work alongside has their own story, strengths, goals, and dreams, and we feel incredibly privileged to be welcomed into their lives and trusted to support their journey.

From day one, our focus has been simple: creating genuine relationships, listening to what matters most to each person, and working alongside individuals, families, and support teams to create meaningful change.

Through evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support, we support people to build skills, increase independence, strengthen relationships, improve safety, and work towards a life that reflects their own goals and aspirations.

We know that choosing a Behaviour Support Practitioner is an important decision. It is about finding someone who takes the time to understand the person, not just the behaviours they may be experiencing. Our approach is built around collaboration, respect, and recognising that every behaviour has a purpose and communicates something important.

We are incredibly thankful to the participants, families, carers, and support teams who have welcomed us into their lives, as well as the community partners who have supported our growth along the way.

As we continue to grow, we are excited to welcome new members to the Delight Disability Services team:

🌱 Andy Byrne joins us with a strong foundation in Positive Behaviour Support, focusing on understanding behaviour as communication and supporting individuals and their teams through practical strategies, skill development, and collaborative planning. Andy brings a genuine passion for helping people increase independence, safety, and quality of life.

🌱 Allison Oliver (Ally) joins our Tasmania team and brings a unique combination of psychology, creativity, and BSP experience. Based in Kingston, Tasmania, Ally has completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science and Bachelor of Music and has experience supporting adults with intellectual disability, ASD, and ADHD. Ally takes a practical and collaborative approach, supporting participants and their teams to build confidence, independence, and wellbeing. Ally currently has capacity to support two participants.

We are also preparing for further growth in the Illawarra region, with new participant capacity expected to become available soon.

If you or someone you know is looking for Behaviour Support that is personalised, practical, and built around the individual, we would love the opportunity to connect.

We currently have capacity for people based in Greater Sydney and Tasmania (Hobart)

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey so far. We are excited for what the future holds and look forward to continuing to support more people and families to thrive. 💚

With gratitude,
The Delight Disability Services Team

DDS wouldn’t be what it is today without the incredible people behind it 💙

Our BSP team is at the heart of everything we do, bringing compassion, skill, and genuine care into the lives of the people we support every single day.

This post is a small introduction to just a few of the amazing humans who make it all possible:

✨ Zac
With a background in psychosocial studies and several years of experience as both a support worker and support coordinator, Zac brings a deep understanding of the people he supports. His ability to connect, advocate, and see the bigger picture makes him an invaluable part of our team.

✨ Sam
Starting her career in Early Childhood Intervention and bringing over 10 years of experience, Sam has always led with compassion and expertise. Since transitioning into BSP, she has only continued to flourish, providing thoughtful, consistent, and meaningful support that truly makes a difference.

✨ Pete
With 5 years of Positive Behaviour Support experience in the UK, alongside a background in youth justice and corrections, Pete brings a wealth of knowledge, resilience, and perspective. Since commencing as a BSP in Australia just over a year ago, he has made a remarkable impact building strong relationships and supporting positive change with authenticity and care.

We are so proud of the team we’ve built and the culture we continue to grow together.
