As part of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service our goal as a brigade is to protect life and property. We achieve these goals through various activities including but not limited to firefighting, flood evacuation and hazard reductions. Training Details:
Training is held on Monday nights from 6:00 to 9:00. Training exercises include hose bowling & rolling, firefighting drills, pumping and drafting, hand tool use & maintenance, burn over procedures and more. Location & Contact Details:

Yesterday, Hawkesbury Headquarters RFS had the pleasure of visiting Richmond Public School to take part in their “Thank a First Responder” Day alongside NSW Police and Fire and Rescue.
It was a fantastic day, and the students had so much fun exploring the fire truck, learning about what we do, and even having a go at knocking down some “flames” with the hose.
Seeing the excitement on the children’s faces and having the opportunity to talk about fire safety and emergency services made the day very special for our crew.
A huge thank you to Richmond Public School for inviting us to be part of such a wonderful event. We truly enjoyed spending time with the students and staff and helping celebrate the amazing work of first responders.

Today, 30 April marks the end of the Bush Fire Danger Period for all Local Government Areas (LGAs) across NSW, with Gwydir, Mid-Western, Moree Plains and Narrabri ending their fire restrictions today.

While landholders no longer require a fire permit, you are still required to notify the and your neighbours at least 24 hours before lighting a fire. To notify the RFS, please complete the online form available on our website: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify

Please note that in some areas, you may still need an environmental permit from your local council or permit from Fire and Rescue NSW. You must also be aware of restrictions on the size and materials permitted in burn piles.

Today, our hearts are with everyone affected by the tragic incident at Bowen Mountain.
To the family, friends, and community touched by this loss, we offer our deepest condolences. Please know that you are in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

We also wish to acknowledge the dedication and compassion shown by all emergency services personnel who attended. Our Hawkesbury district stood together with professionalism, strength, and care, and we commend every member involved for their commitment under such challenging circumstances.
