There are three disclosure lodgement periods coming up. 👇

Half-yearly political donation disclosures are due by 11 August.
Annual major political donor disclosures are due by 11 August.
Annual electoral expenditure disclosures are due by 22 September.

These disclosures allow the public to see the donations made and received and money spent on campaigning by political participants in NSW.

Disclosures are published as soon as practicable after the due date.

Did you receive an ‘Apparent failure to vote notice’ for the Port Macquarie State by-elections?

Please take action to respond to the notice as soon as possible. The notice also provides a chance to explain why you didn’t vote or, if you did vote, how to provide further details to us.

You can provide further information in writing via our online self-service portal. All reasons will be assessed but please note that not knowing there was a by-election cannot be accepted as an excuse.

Voters can also call the Electoral Commission on 1300 135 736 if they have concerns about being able to respond to the notice, such as if they have been impacted by recent extreme weather events.

Any written objections received within 14 days will be considered in deciding the application.

The NSW Electoral Commission may cancel or suspend your registration if the information in the Lobbyist Register is not updated when required.

Are you a third-party lobbyist?

Third-party lobbyists’ registered information must be confirmed by 31 May 2025. This includes the names of clients and any clients who are foreign principals.

If you’re the responsible officer of a third-party lobbyist, log in NOW to the Lobbyist Online Portal to confirm your registered information, tick the appropriate box and lodge the confirmation form.
