Heathcote High School - Official

Heathcote High School - Official We aim for excellence, provide and champion opportunities, and celebrate the successes of our students. We are a UNSW Gateway school.

Our community stretches beyond the classroom and is a privilege to be a part of. Pls follow DET NSW social media rules. Heathcote High is a community, comprehensive school which seeks to provide a caring and supportive environment for students and staff, while pursuing excellence in learning, teaching, welfare, sporting and cultural programs. A recognised strength of our school is a support unit f

or students with disabilities. In the area of outdoor education (including the Duke of Edinburgh program) the school is regarded highly across the state. Our school's code of behaviour is as follows: Make learning your number one priority; respect all members of the school and their property; respect everyone's right to learn without disruption; behave sensibly and safely; and take care of the environment. We as a community believe in sharing the responsibility for ensuring that our students are well educated, happy and responsible young Australians. This year we have become an associated school with the University of Sydney. This gives our teachers and students access to the wide range of resources of this university.

Pop on that kettle, Team Heathcote! It's time to reflect on the achievements of our students in the past three weeks with our HHS Newsletter!

While we are well aware that HHS punches above its weight, we are always so grateful for the amazing feedback we receive from our community and the young people we share in caring for. If you can't see it already, we love this place we've created together. Thank you for your terrific support.

Happy Newsletter Day!

What a week on the snow with our Year 10 PASS students! ❄️⛷️🏔️

Our students threw themselves into every activity with enthusiasm all week. Conditions weren’t always easy, but every student pushed through with resilience, supported their mates, and kept a great attitude throughout.

Watching their snowboarding come along over the week was awesome from wobbly first turns to linking it all together by the end. We were very proud of the progress they made and how they represented Heathcote High School!

Enjoy some highlights from the week below 👇

Good luck to our Heathcote High School Targeted Sports Program girls competing at the Rugby 7s State Championships on the Central Coast next Thursday!

Rugby 7s is a completely new sport for our girls, with most having never played before picking it up this season, but they have thrown themselves into it and are absolutely loving it. They have been training extremely hard and we couldn’t be prouder of the dedication, resilience and team spirit they’ve shown along the way. Go get ’em girls!

A huge thank you to Rugby NSW for their incredible support this term in helping prepare our girls for this tournament, your partnership means so much to our program and our students.

A special mention also to Tahli Struthers, Heathcote High School alumni, who has generously given her time to help train the girls throughout the season. Your guidance and experience have made a real difference, thank you!

Please join us in congratulating this incredible Leadership Team and Student Representative Council for the Class of 2027!

This year's College of Candidates were of the highest calibre and made it incredibly difficult for our voters to select their representatives. Well done to every candidate who put themselves forward. You remind us all to make a difference in our communities and challenge our vulnerabilities. We are beyond proud of each and every one of you.

The 2027 Leadership Team consists of:

CAPTAINS:
- Nicole Lohoar
- William Mackay

VICE CAPTAINS:
- Keeley Davidson
- Jenson Malley

PREFECTS:
- Isabella Downes
- Hannah Farrell
- Zac Griffiths
- Sienna Loucas
- Sophie Roberts

What an incredible team set to lead us into their final school year.

And while we can also announce that Class of 2027 Jerseys have arrived, these will not be distributed until their HSC year commences in Term 4. (But how exciting!!)

HHS is collectively thrilled for you all!

🇫🇷🇫🇷

🇬🇧🇬🇧
Over the past few weeks, all of our French students had the opportunity to spend time getting out of the classroom and enjoying some classic French past-times: eating pastries and playing pétanque!

It was a fantastic time, with all of our students getting involved in a hands-on experience of French culture. And in the true French fashion, the pétanque results were passionately contested! It was a great time for all!

Last week, to celebrate Science Week, our 10SCI.H students organised a number of activities for our next door neighbours, the pre-school children from Creative Garden Early Education!

The 10H activities included; teensy static electricity including the van de Graf, a pint-sized chemical reaction show, a wee look at tiny bugs through microscopes, making ooblex (slime) and observing and launching mini rockets!

Our micro students were thoroughly impressed and our 10H’s were equally delighted in sharing their knowledge.

Take a look at these darling images and how engaged both groups were. There’s nothing quite like seeing our students thrive in these amazing moments of bi-lateral learning. Go, Heathcote!

National Skills Week - Celebrating SBATs at HHS:

We’re proud to celebrate our SBAT students, who are combining their HSC with paid employment and formal training in their chosen industries.

These students have shown exceptional commitment, whilst building the skills and confidence as they take important steps towards their future careers.

Well done, HHS SBAT students!

Meet our college of candidates for the SRC Captains and Vice Captains for 2027!

We’re excited to see these students step up, share their ideas and put themselves forward to represent our school community. Their speeches were beautifully prepared and well received by their peers and staff. It was an absolute pleasure to listen to.

Each candidate should be very proud of themselves. Good luck to all of our nominees.
