Out in our community today talking about the 2026-27 State Budget.
A budget that delivers the biggest cost-of-living investment in South Australia’s history.
It is focused on practical relief for families, seniors and households, while delivering on our election commitments with no new taxes and no surprises.
From 2027, public school will be free, putting thousands of dollars back into family budgets.
Sports Vouchers will also be expanded to every school-aged child from 5 to 18, helping more families with the cost of sport and keeping young people active.
The Budget also funds free Year 7 school camps, and before-and-after school activities for public primary students.
For seniors, the Seniors Card will be expanded to every South Australian aged 60 and over, helping more people access discounts and free public transport.
Families will also benefit from South Australia’s first IVF rebate scheme.
There are new measures to support housing and home ownership, including stamp duty relief for eligible downsizers, 2,000 Rent to Own homes, expanded HomeStart support, and initiatives to boost housing supply.
We are also investing in the jobs of the future, with 1,000 construction pathways and 1,000 AUKUS training opportunities.
And we are strengthening health services, with more aged care beds, new women’s health clinics and additional 24-hour pharmacies.
This is a Budget focused on relief today, and opportunity tomorrow.
