Has anyone here played story of seasons or harvest moon or stardew Valley? - Part 1

There are 4 seasons being played per year, mimicking reality in some countries.

Tea also follows seasons. With each season, comes distinct characteristics of the tea.

Spring, the season of showers shows more floral qualities and has the most antioxidant properties. Quite the healthy tea, good to drink regularly to maintain good health.

Summer, one with the most sunshine and beach days, has the most caffeine content. So all you night owls, requiring a morning pick me up, may want to choose these teas to freshen up.

Autumn tea, grows quickly, just as fast as how the leaves fall from the tree. Days are getting cooler and colder so a warm cuppa to warm the heart and tummy would be second to none.

Finally, the gorgeous snowy Winter. These tea plants are special, as nutrients build up underneath the leaves and buds. These plants usually go into hibernation which brings out the light and sweet taste of tea.

Comment below if you can state an example of each!

What do you do when you're feeling anxious?

What do you do when you have a racing mind?

What do you do after a stressful day of life?

For me, I brew and drink tea. All I need is tea leaves, hot water and my favourite teacup.

First I inhale and take in the aroma of the tea. That makes me calm down. Then I take a gentle sip and savour each of the unique tea taste. My mind slows down. After a few more sips, maybe a refill or more, my body relaxes and the stress is erased away.

I hope everyone's day is going well - Happy Midweek!

Comment down below what else you do to relieve stress😄

Autumn is one of my favourite seasons. With the falling leaves and the cooler weather, what’s more perfect than a steaming cup of tea with some jam and croissants on the side?

As I reflect upon the Covid virus causing travels to stop for everyone, I’m thankful that my family and friends are still safe and healthy.

I can’t wait to travel again and try out different teas to share with you! 😊

Discover the best type of tea leaf for brewing!

The ONE biggest misconception that people have - the only difference between organic and non organic plants is the fact that one has been sprayed with pesticides.

It's not that simple. Different plants are affected differently. Unlike coffee bean that has a thick outer shell, tea leaves don't have any physical protection. It will easily absorb any sprayed pesticides which will directly transfer to the tea liquor we drink.

Also, the true definition of organic is one that doesn't involve the use of man-made pesticides, synthetic fertilisers, growth regulators and genetic modification in the growth process of the plant.

So how do you feel about taking in all those chemicals into your body, time and again, as you consume your tea? I would rather have brew my tea from organic tea leaves, maintain the healthy beverage image of tea which allows us to relax, rejuvenate and improve our mood.

P.S. Always choose Certified Organic as they are closely regulated by organisations approved by the government.

🌿Comment below, have you tried any organic teas?

Check out this tea related game that I found!

Hello BTFL family,
I was scrolling through the internet when I found this super cool Taiwanese board game about tea.

I’m a huge fan of board games in general because they’re fun yet educational. (Who’s with me?)

So, in Formosa Tea, you are a group of tea business owners competing to plant, harvest and produce the best tea by constantly improving your tea processing techniques (dehydrating and scenting) for not just the local market but also the global market. The goal is not about producing the most tea but the top quality tea.

This game is quite thematic in the sense that it corresponds to the real tea production step.

I won’t be going too much into details but if you have played the game, tag us at with your hi-scores.

Hope you’ve had a fruitful Thursday!

Cheers,

How to Brew a Fantastic Cuppa using the Most Accessible Water - from your Tap?

Although it ain’t no Spring Water, it does have a few properties similar to that. They’re both cold, free flowing and contains oxygen. That oxygen content gives the tea better flavour and aroma. So in order not to lose too much oxygen, only boil your water ONCE.

However, there’s a few drawbacks. It requires filtration because it is high in minerals. Once that process is complete, the tap water becomes closer to the ideal Spring Water.

I hope that the last few days have been informative and that your understanding of tea has increased.

So has anyone guessed what the quote is?

Indeed, the water for brewing tea makes a huge difference to the taste and aroma of the final tea product. Spring water is the best, having the ideal properties of free flowing, high in oxygen and low in minerals.

Yet, in this day and age, what are the odds of you buying spring water regularly to brew your tea?

It gets costly, especially if you buy good quality spring water, up to about the price of a business class air ticket or more.

So, it might be the best option, but it’s not the most realistic. For most of us, the most easily accessible water would be from our taps.

So how do you make the most out of it?

Stay tuned to our next post!

P.S. Comment below what was the best tasting water you’ve ever had. Mine’s Fiji Water. 😋

Once upon a time...

In the old days, people didn’t know much about tea. Aside from it perhaps being a nice beverage to drink, there were little research about the origins and rituals of tea.

Recently I’ve been reading this book by Lu Yu and I found a passage that resonates a lot with me.

Take a guess!

Hint: What type of water should you brew tea with and why?

P.S. All will be revealed tomorrow.

The Number 1 Secret To Amazing Tea - Take a Guess?

If you guessed tea leaves, you’re partially right! The next most important factor is water temperature. Just like how temperamental humans are, tea leaves require a personalised temperature to bring out their fragrance and the essence of tea.

The one I’m drinking today is the Taiwanese Organic Mountain White Tea infused with Sugar Cane

In the next few posts, I’ll reveal the specific properties of this tea and why I decided to open Brew Tea For Life ( ).
