The weather is getting cooler ❄ But before you turn the heat up, keep this in mind.

Heaters and fireplaces can be dangerous if not used correctly.
Always place heaters on flat surfaces and keep them at least one metre away from anything that could burn such as curtains, clothing or bedding.

Never leave heaters or fires unattended or running overnight.

If you're a licensed plumber working in Tasmania, there's an important update you need to know about.

AS/NZS 3500:2025 is now in effect. From 1 May 2026, all plumbing work must be installed in accordance with the updated standard, following its adoption alongside NCC 2025.

This includes all Category 2 Low Risk Plumbing Work: water heater replacement, sanitary fixture replacement, and roof and gutter replacement; with no exceptions applying to these work types.

Limited exceptions exist for work substantially complete before 1 May 2026, or work designed as notifiable or permit plumbing prior to that date.

Plumbers are encouraged to review the changes via the Standards Australia website.
