National Reconciliation Week (27 May- 3 June) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.

The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.

Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.

To learn more and get involved, head to Reconciliation Australia's website for resources and information 🌟

This week is National Volunteers Week (May 18-24).

The HUB has a massive team of incredible volunteers who support our Neighbourhood Centre activities. We have volunteers do a whole range of things, from those who welcome you at reception, to those who run different groups, those who work on our beautiful community gardens, and others who cook and clean for different activities.

This week we acknowledge, thank and show our appreciation for our amazing volunteers here, and those all across the country!

May 11-17th is Neighbourhood Centre Week!

Across Queensland, over 150 Neighbourhood Centres open their doors each day to support their communities with everything from cost–of–living challenges to natural disasters.

Neighbourhood Centre Week is a chance to unite communities across Queensland in a statewide celebration. It’s an opportunity to connect, say thank you and encourage Queenslanders to celebrate the amazing work of local Neighbourhood Centres and the people who help our communities to thrive.

Our Community Healing Group is returning in Term 2, hosted every Tuesday from 9.30-11am.

✨What is the Community Healing Group?
The Community Healing Group is a new social group hosted at HUB Neighbourhood Centre Inala. The group will focus on empowering natural helpers and community allies to gain new knowledge, skills, and confidence in supporting everyday people who may be experiencing domestic and family violence, as well as changing community attitudes towards violence, making new connections, and participating in mindful arts and crafts.

✨What will the group involve?
This group will bring together participants weekly. The group will mainly involve a facilitated mindful craft activity (which may include collage, painting, colouring etc.) During this activity, participants will get to know each other, answer questions, share concerns, and reflect together. The group will introduce educational modules around domestic and family violence, which may include topics such as responding to disclosures, bystander interventions, healing and self-care, and changing community attitudes. The group does not provide professional counselling, mediation, legal or other professional advice. Our scope is to provide support, education and promote creative thinking about support options and solutions.
