What an amazing weekend spent at the Dulmur Jundal-Jin Gnumbi 💜💜

A huge thank you to our hosts from Wirrinyah Gurrnung Aboriginal Corporation and everyone that contributed to make this years’ event, a very special gathering.

Acknowledgement to all partners Boorrumpah Goupong Aboriginal Corporation, Ya’Djin Womens Collective, DCC Industry Group who each supported from supplies and materials, camping gear, food, workshops and chill-out spaces for the Jundals and Jarjums to enjoy.👏🏾👏🏾👈🏽

It was great to have workshops presenters share their knowledge and skills on healing, economic security, weaving, jewellery and native bush foods and much more. Yarns around the fire🔥, face painting and beauty and nails makeovers were something special. 🫶🏽

Thanks also to team Our Altruistic Group for showing up and showing support through helping out over the weekend. Much appreciation always💜💜

The leadership was on display from the young women who helped with serving Elders, helping mothers, kitchen hands and just being too deadly with biggest belly laughs!! And a huge shout out to Head of Kitchen Reisha, deadly darlin!! 🙏🏽💜💜

Congratulations Kambu Health for 50years of providing healthcare for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island community of Ipswich and surrounding areas.

It’s not by chance that a community controlled services exists for this amount of time!!! We at Our Altruistic Group want to acknowledge the original Founders and their descendants, Board of Directors and Staff over these many years since the very humble beginnings. As a client since 1977, a resident and ex-staff member, it has been a privilege to bear witness to such a legacy for the people.

We wish the incoming CEO, Dania Ahwang much success in leading the organisation as we feel a beautiful change is coming!!

Here’s to another 50years and beyond 🙏🏽💜💜

A national phone service for First Nations participants, carers and families. Important information shared from the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme page.

First Nations Connect is a new phone service that helps give First Nations people with disability, their families and carers a pathway to NDIS, that is safe, respectful and tailored.

It builds on insights from over 230 stakeholders in the First Nations National Contact Centre Gap Analysis. These include First Nations participants, families and carers, National Contact Centre staff, community led organisations and key partners.

‘Having access to services tailored to First Nations people is essential, ensuring these services are relevant and respectable is a must.’ Dr Richie Fejo, First Nations participant and NDIA Board member says.
