Shire of Jerramungup

The Shire comprises 645,110 ha and incorporates the towns of Jerramungup and Bremer Bay and the districts of Needilup, Jacup, Gairdner and Boxwood Hill.

The Shire of Jerramungup a local government are, located in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, about 180km northeast of Albany and about 440km southeast of the state capital, Perth. Also, it is the western gateway to the world famous Fitzgerald River National Park which is one of the most diverse botanical regions in the world, containing unique flora and fauna and 20% of the states described plant species.

PLEASE RESPECT OUR PUBLIC FACILITIES
With the warmer weather bringing more people out and about, we’ve unfortunately noticed some recent mess in our public and pool toilets, particularly wet toilet paper being thrown around.

We’d really appreciate parents and caregivers having a quick chat with their kids about treating these shared facilities with care and leaving them tidy for the next person.

A little care goes a long way in helping keep our community facilities clean and welcoming for everyone.

The Jerramungup community is advised that WACHS has notified that the Jerramungup Nursing Post will open today, Friday 23 October at 11 am.
Please note these hours are for WACHS nurse only and do not affect Livingston Medical.

BE SAFE ON OUR ROADS THIS HARVEST

Harvest is a busy time across our Shire, with increased trucks, farm machinery and other vehicles travelling on our roads.

We’re reminding everyone to slow down, stay alert and be patient when sharing the road. Take extra care when approaching heavy vehicles and machinery, and only overtake when it is safe to do so.

Harvest is an important time for our community, but nothing is more important than getting home safely.

Change to Recycling Collection this week
Bremer Bay and Jerramungup

Cleanaway have advised:

- Recycling will be collected tomorrow (Wednesday 21/10).

- Rubbish will be collected today (Tuesday) as usual.

The Jerramungup Community Swimming Pool will open for the season on Thursday, 15 October 2026.

Before you can access the pool, all members must renew their membership for the new season and have their pool key reactivated at the Shire office. Please bring your key with you when renewing so staff can reactivate it. Please come in from 8:30am tomorrow, Thursday 15 October to renew your membership.

A reminder that pool induction training must be completed every three years. If you are due to renew your induction, please let the Shire know as soon as possible. This will help us gauge numbers and schedule induction courses at suitable times.
