The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning ⚠️ for DAMAGING, LOCALLY DESTRUCTIVE WINDS 💨 For people in Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of West Coast, North East Pastoral and North West Pastoral districts.

STRONG COLD FRONT TO BRING DAMAGING, LOCALLY DESTRUCTIVE WINDS ON FRIDAY

Weather Situation: A strong cold front is developing over the Southern Ocean, and is expected to cross the state on Friday morning bringing a risk of damaging to locally destructive winds to southern parts of the state. A gusty west to southwesterly airstream is then expected to develop behind the front, sustaining the risk of damaging winds into the evening.

DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with gusts of around 100 km/h are forecast in the warning area from early Friday morning. LOCALLY DESTRUCTIVE WINDS WITH PEAK GUSTS OF AROUND 130 KM/H are also possible during the early morning for areas including Adelaide, the Mount Lofty Ranges, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, as well as coastal areas of the Upper and Lower South East. These higher wind gusts will be associated with the strongest showers and thunderstorms in isolated locations.

DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are then forecast to continue throughout the day in a westerly and then southwesterly airstream behind the front, mostly associated with showers and thunderstorms. Peak gusts may reach 110 km/h about the Lower South East during the afternoon and evening.

Conditions are expected to gradually ease from the west during the evening, although may continue into the late evening over the Lower South East.

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Renmark, Mount Gambier and Ceduna.

* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;

* Secure or put away loose items around your property.

* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.

For people in Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral districts.

Damaging winds possible in the west of the state from Tuesday morning, extending to the east during the day.
Weather Situation: A strong cold front will enter the west of the state on Tuesday morning. Damaging winds with showers and thunderstorms are possible along the front, as well as in westerly winds in its wake. The front will continue to move east during Tuesday, reaching the eastern districts during the evening.

DAMAGING WIND GUSTS with peak gusts of around 90 km/h are possible over western parts the state Tuesday morning, extending east across the Eyre Peninsula, Flinders Ranges and the eastern districts during the afternoon and evening.

DAMAGING WINDS are forecast to ease briefly from the west on Wednesday before increasing again on Wednesday night as another trough moves across the Great Australian Bight.

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Mount Gambier, Ceduna and Naracoorte.

For people in Mount Lofty Ranges, Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island and parts of Adelaide Metropolitan, Yorke Peninsula, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and North East Pastoral districts.

Damaging winds possible over the Flinders Ranges this evening, extending south during Tuesday morning.

Weather Situation: A deep low pressure system moving to New South Wales this evening is resulting in strong and gusty southwesterly winds over much of eastern South Australia, with damaging winds possible over the Flinders Ranges for the remainder of this evening. Southwesterly flow will strengthen over the south and southeast of South Australia in the early hours of Tuesday morning as a series of troughs move in from the Southern Ocean, bringing a risk of damaging winds until Tuesday evening.

DAMAGING WINDS averaging 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible over the Flinders, North East Pastoral, and Mid North districts, easing later this evening.

DAMAGING WINDS averaging 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible over the Mid North, Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island and parts of Yorke Peninsula, Murraylands, Upper South East, and Lower South East districts from the early hours of Tuesday morning, easing during Tuesday evening.

Locations which may be affected include Mount Gambier, Clare, Murray Bridge, Kingscote, Hawker and Jamestown.

Severe weather is no longer occurring in the West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Riverland and North West Pastoral districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
