This is so sad... children's playgrounds should be safe spaces for all 😢

Lane Cove Council is responding to repeated vandalism at Wadanggari Playground, with recent damage affecting the yellow enclosed section of the play structure. The damaged area has been cordoned off while repairs are planned. Council’s investigation found that the enclosed design creates a surveillance blind spot despite existing CCTV and lighting, and it is considering removing some opaque wall panels to improve visibility.

The latest vandalism incident occurred around the same time emergency services were responding to a fire at the playground. Police reported that a marked police vehicle travelling to the fire scene struck a nine-year-old boy on the Pacific Highway in St Leonards. The child was treated at the scene before being taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a stable condition. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision.

Council is also working with local authorities, investigating preventative measures, and will provide updates on repair timelines and any design changes once investigations are complete.

In a suburb where properties rarely come up for sale, this waterfront Northwood home was built in the 1970s and has been in the same family's hands ever since. Now, with mixed emotions, they're handing it over to someone new to fall in love with.

Perched above the Lane Cove River with private river frontage and sweeping harbour views, the property enjoys a remarkable sense of privacy just minutes from the CBD.

Set on 708sqm of waterfront land, it features soaring ceilings, sun-filled living spaces, a loft library, wintergarden and direct access to the river below. With endless potential to update, reimagine or simply enjoy as it is, this is a home that offers something increasingly rare in Sydney - space, privacy and a genuine connection to the water.

📍56B Cliff Road, Northwood
🏠Next inspection: Wednesday June 3 at 10am (then Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10am)
🔨Auction: Saturday June 27 (guide: $5,000,000)
