The night shift Brigade.

Winter has certainly introduced its self.

Just after 1.30am This morning our Brigade members attended another tree down. A crew of 4 attended and got the chainsaw out to clear a tree opposite the Coldstore on Adelaide-Lobethal Rd.

Our Brigade also yesterday afternoon attended 2 other tree downs in the district.
That makes 4 tree downs in under 24 hours.

Drive carefully in wintery conditions….❄️🥶

Well last night our Captain said I will see you at 3am….
He was not wrong!

Just after 3am as the predicted weather event come in a Tree had come down in the district.
Thanks to our 4 members that rolled out of bed to take care of it.

Keeping the community flowing and safe is what we do.

Drive safely this morning on your commutes to work and school drop offs.
And drive with your lights on that helps in poor weather conditions 😉

Chainsaw tickets are all up to date.

Training on a Monday night getting ready for the Winter ahead.

We have some Rain on the radar for this week. ☔️ 🌧️

With the leaves falling during Autumn, how are your gutters looking? 🍁

Maybe now’s the time to check gutters, drains and run off points.

Do so safely….

What’s your Local CFS Brigade been upto?

A couple of call outs to smoke alarms and a Mountain Biker rescue over the last month.

Today we had a busy one, it started out just before 5am this morning we were called out to Fox Creek Road to a vehicle accident, thankfully the occupant of the vehicle did not sustain any serious injuries to our knowledge and was treated by Ambulance crew.

Attended,
🚒 Lenswood/Forest Range 2.4 Appliance
🧑🏻‍🚒 5 personnel
🚑 SAAS

And just before 12 midday the pager dropped again….
A burn off that got a little wind behind it had jumped into nearby scrub.
Crews from Lenswood/Forest Range CFS and one of our neighbouring brigades Woodside CFS along with Onka Bulk Water Carrier bought it under control.

Then it rained…..

Attended,
🚒 Lenswood/Forest Range 2.4 Appliance
🚒 Lenswood/Forest Range 1.4 Appliance
🚒 Woodside 3.4 Appliance
🚒 Onka Bulk Water Carrier
🚨 Group Officer
🧑🏻‍🚒12 personnel

Thank you to our locals that also took part in helping where they could.

TOTAL FIRE BANS have been declared for Tuesday 31 March 2026 in the following Fire Ban Districts:

Mount Lofty Ranges - Extreme

Where Total Fire Bans have been declared, very hazardous fire weather conditions are predicted.

The Total Fire Ban will apply for 24 hours from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow.

The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan.

Fire Danger Ratings
Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Extreme, only well prepared, well constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire.

What should you do
If you don't have a plan to ensure your survival, leaving early before a fire starts is your safest option.

In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions.

Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. Landowners are also asked to ensure that any burn-off activities conducted today are fully extinguished before midnight tonight.

Agencies are advised to activate their Total Fire Ban procedures in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions
